Yep too much name calling and belittling of peoples posts and it puts people off posting who could have decent ideas and opinions, I quit here myself after a bit as it gets too local but it seems a lot better now. I preferred the old 606 because all the bell-ends would get shortshrift from mods also the miserable old bastards were all nicely segregated at the C.I. forum for old farts
Aye, it does, thanks. It strikes me as strange that no one has commented on Taylor playing a position that requires pace? I have always considered him a very good utility player, but after all of the previous comment about his pace I am surprised at this. I have seen a few comments that simply said he acquitted himself okay, others that generalise that no one was bad, so he wasn't. One thing I do know is that if he ever hit 90% of what he was, then we would have a very useful allrounder in our squad. I like him, he's a very honest player and I would love him to close his career with us on a high note.
Here you go then fez. 4-4-2 Jack Dave Harry Davies robbo Snod Hayden tom Taylor Aluko diomande Taylor came in side far too often for me. IMHO he's unbelievably poor. Stealing money at 5 6 10 grand a week. You can see he's been a player but he's scared of been caught out and goes safety first all the time. Did a terrific first time ball to the wing on the volley. He got done all ends up for the cross when they hit the bar in the last minute. Pulled out of a few challenges too. He s obviously a likable kid and has been a good footlballer but h wont play a game in the league. Dave. Had a good game. Linked well with snod made some great interception and showed some great skill on th ball. Harry. Getting better and better. Excellent long passing and very confident on the ball. Davies. In control. Good game. Left foot like a shovel mind. Robbo had the tramp he was playing against all ends up. Can't cross a ball to sav his life and too many times went inside when he just needed to knock it down the wing and go. Snod. Great corners and crosses. Got a bit of devil we've lacked for ages. Great game. Hudd still too deep. Some of the passes were sublime. Big 50 50 in the center Circle and he lost it. May be wrong but prior to the pen he had the chance to shoot first time and he chose to bring it down and lost control. Annoying. Hayden. Played well. Some shots but didn't hit the target when he should have done. One great challenge. Aluko. Finally straightened up a lot and went at them instead of cutting back all the time. Poor passes and shots though. Diomande. Looked dangerous a few times running at them and got Dunk booked. Dunk looks an excellent CB by the way. Bit of a headless chicken. Got in the way of snod whe he was coming in to smash a shot in. Snod really pissed off. I hope it isn't his groin. Think he got a kick when he blasted over the bar. Luer. Had a couple of chances. Poor passes and link up play. I hope we draw a poor side next round and he gets a full game.
don`t take things personal, lots of WUM`s on here that love a bite, but when it all comes down to it we all want one thing, and that`s a successful Hull City.
There you go, thanks, Chazz, that's exactly what I have been speaking about for weeks. It's both factual and opinion, it gives information (that strangely isn't available elsewhere) and it opens it up for others to join in. Now that's a good football forum! You're still a ****, though!
I thought Aluko did OK today. But he does my head in the number of times he gets caught in offside position or has to leave the ball when its heading in his direction because hes running back from an offside position. Diomande looked dangerous when running with the ball but probably won't see him again for a couple of weeks now if he's pulled his groin again. Robertson was on fire. Some of his crosses fell short, but I don't understand why we never seem to get anyone on the end of them. It's a shame about Hayden. He was one of our better players but will be lucky to get on the bench for the next game. Taylor did bugger all afternoon apart from ping it back to the same player who passed it to him, and he bottled it big time when their goalie came outside of the penalty box. It will be interesting to see whether Bruce drops Harry or Curtis when Dawson is back fit. For me, Harry is getting better all the time.
Ye he did bottle it. With the goalie. Also dunk should have been off. He was already booked for the foul on dio whe he tripped Harry. We missed a trick not getting the ref on the case there.
groin or hamstring strain but on the other side to the one that kept him out for so long, Bruce said he is being sent for scans as is normal now with all muscular injuries but didn`t think it was a bad one.
Enjoyed the game we were much the better side only downside for me was Diomande injured again plus the hat full of chances we missed which is a concern
I think Taylor was playing a bit more defensively to be honest despite Robertson being the supposed defender as Robbo was bombing forward so much, he was also cutting into the midfield centrally a fair bit (Taylor) and the lack of pace didn't seem so much of an issue. When I saw him earlier in the season he did look like he would get exposed for lack of pace it has to be said and maybe Bruce took note of that
What sort of strength team did Brighton have out? I could not make this game. Be interesting to see if we have put down a marker for when we play Brighton at home.
Made the same number of changes we did, 7, but don't think today was any sort of dress rehearsal for when we meet in the league (whenever that will be).
I just looked through their squad sheet. I thought they had more first team players playing. Psychologically, it may have had an impact.
Ridgewell made his debut too for them from the MLS today, wasn't overly convincing and I thought they were poor in general, would have been a travesty if they had scored at the end when the fella hit the bar
