No of course. I totally agree. BUT... if it is fact, it seems odd that we turned it down. Especially as we are in the market for a better striker than Grabban
Paddy Davitt @paddyjdavitt #ncfc AN says no bid for Kone. Not interested. There won't be a bid from #ncfc Paddy Davitt @paddyjdavitt #ncfc AN says no other clubs have come in for Lafferty either So, unless we shift the stance on Lafferty, we;re stuck with him and Grabban (and no upgrade) for the foreseeable future
Disappointing but we can only judge this transfer window once the dust settles on the second half of the season.
I do feel a bit disappointed because he was the one I thought we'd get last summer if not in January, whether he can make the step up is still unknown but I've got that feeling he will do well.
I hope we have our eye on someone other than Naismith! He will be a great addition to our squad no doubt, but he isnt really a goalscorer. I love Jerome but if Mbokani gets injured we a buggered up top tbh. Not sure who is out there but Afobe would be one id be happy with. Young, powerful and has goals in him. Haller looked a decent possibility with his size, age and goals this year. Austin would be good but not gona happen.
If we're not prepared to pocket £7m+ for Grabban and spend circa £10m on a striker like Afobe, then Austin is very clearly out of the question.
If I win the lottery tonight, I'll give McNally 10 Mil to go out there and get the CB and Striker we have needed for about 4 or 5 seasons!
It wouldn't be too high, if we had sold Grabban for 8M! Coz the fee would be about 4m for the talented young lad.
No, the fee would still be the same. Ok so you may have more money, but that does not change the fact you feel someone is not worth a certain fee. Let's face it Torres was never worth £50m and Carroll was never worth £35m. Neal obviously feels Afobe is not worth whatever Wolves were asking for. Let's move on!
No, what I obviously mean is. We would suddenly have 8 million we don't have now. So therefore we only would need about 4M of our own money.
