I wouldn't pay much attention to today's game from a league point of view. Both teams are severely weakened today.
Good win. Lumps more **** on Brighton's lap (surely CH is on borrowed time), a clean sheet, 4th round & maintains the momentum. Onwards.
We need to repeat that in the league match. Who do we fancy in the next round? I don't care so long as it's at home. I'll be in the Azores without Facebook or Twitter so I won't know much about it that day,
Bruce has just said Elmo is not going to Everton. He didn't say he wasn't going anywhere else though.
Martinez said Jella wasn't going anywhere till he signed an appropriate replacement. He sold him to us almost immediately without signing anyone.
Poor Luer was clean through too when Aluko missed that chance, it would have done wonders for the lads confidence if he had squared it but Aluko being Aluko made a pigs ear of it. I'm not sure what game Peter Swan watches but I had my headphones on as I came out of the ground and it sounded like he was praising Aluko, if I had had a gun in my hand I might have shot him after he missed that chance and didn't give Luer a goal, his decision making is terrible. He caused them trouble with his direct running and thats it really against a team who weren't up for it. Lots of pluses though, Hayden was terrific and seems to be the ideal partner for Huddlestone, but I've thought that for months anyway, he seems to be quicker around the park than most of our central midfield lads. Also he is feisty, one tackle in particular stood out, I heard Bruce on the radio say it was the best challenge he'd seen for about 15 years, obviously forgotten Harrys two man clean out last week already! Snodgrass is coming back to his best which is very encouraging too and it was great to see him running to the bench to celebrate his goal with the medical staff and physios. Shame that Anne Diamond is injured again though he also missed what seemed to be an excellent chance. Great day UTT, lots of positives and we have a lot of strength in depth still.
