she is a disgrace taking so many drugs not bothered at all that she is dead what a waste of a life, just feel sorry for her family.

a mother in africa had to choose one of her three sons to die because she could not feed them all this child should have had her life.

The perfect example of how drugs ruin lives. So much talent and she has ****ed it all away. No sympathy at all.

For those saying they're not bothered, etc, what if it was Gazza? There's a lot more to people than the media make out. And once you are addicted, you've no chance with everyone kicking you when you have a bad day

Eminem had a severe addiction, he came through because he wanted help... People can recover!

Although I'm not a fan, Winehouse just wasted her life and talent. ****ed up!

Its very sad, but not at all surprising. Such a waste of talent!

And also, the events in Norway or so tragic! What is this world coming too? Such a sick place.

So sad but it could have all been avoided if the bomber in Norway wasn't so evil and Winehouse wasn't addicted to drugs.

Yeah people can, but look at how many don't. And don't say or even think that most people could because otherwise you wouldn't have obese people, etc. People look into these celebrities' lives and think if they were in their situation they'd pull through, but on what basis? Considering most people have bad habits that ruin their lives to a lesser extent and can't deal with them?

An innocent person killed by a drunk driver is a tragedy or people slayn by a gunman. This isn't a tragedy. And nobody is surprised. A waste of life yes, a tragedy no.

The only thing I wouldn't be surprised is if it wasn't from a drug overdose.

Not exactly sad nor happy about it, no emotion about it tbh.

    You talk some sense!

Always sad when it's the death of a human being, let it not take away from the grief felt on the Norway situation though (I think you can feel empathy & sympathy for both separately despite others trying to measure them against each other).
Unfortunately, it's a fact of life that drugs are a muse for the vast majority of musicians and it has been studied that you can even cheat synesthesia by taking them (forgotten the research, just remember having to study it during 1st and 2nd year), hence why many artists will draw upon them for inspiration. Hell Amy Winehouse's first real commercial breakthrough single was a song about rehab (pretty sure she never broke into the top 40 before Rehab/her second album), if she had never been an addict she may never have fully broken through commercially (who knows?).

Before musicians, poets such as Coleridge & Keats turned to the likes of opium to alter their minds and write poetry from a different perspective they may never have had without altering their way of thinking. I mean even the scientist who worked out the model for the structure of the benzene ring (the basis of most organic chemistry particularly things active on the human body, medicines alkaloids etc.) was supposed to have seen the structure in an opium dream haze, so it's not like it's an exclusive habit to creative artists either.
I'm not exactly condoning the method as right, but it is a fact that many people have used drugs to further themselves and they may not have been the same person without them. Obviously it's a tragedy when someone takes it to the far extreme and ends up taking their life through addiction, but at the same time noone except her closest friends & family or a fellow addicted musician could possibly understand what she was going through & even then probably not fully.

Regarding the situation with music the comedian Bill Hicks once emphasised the point through saying, "...Take all your albums, all your tapes and all your CDs and burn them. 'Cause you know what, the musicians that made all that great music that's enhanced your lives throughout the years were rrreal ****ing high on drugs. The Beatles were so ****ing high they let Ringo sing a few tunes."
I seem to have lost my point somewhat, I guess I just want to make out that nothing in life is ever as black & white as it seems, rather different shades of grey.

like other people have said it is sad she has dead but not a tragedy and i feel most for her dad as he kept trying to help her but couldn't.
