Who the **** knows. I'd guess Lucas will be playing there. One of the other CB's might be fit again, other than that it could be Can with Ilori on the bench.

    Did you watch mate?

    It was largely garbage.

    Especially second half.

Enrique kept trying to go long and kept whacking it out of play...

Defence had a young RB a young LB, Ilori at CB who hadn't played football for 7 months, and Enrique a LB, at CB who also hasn't played football for 3 years.

Defence will be Clyne Toure Sakho Moreno I think.

    Lol my apologies.

All in all, our u21 did a good job and did it on a really horrible pitch as well. They bought us time to help some of our players come back from injuries for the replay.

Actually despite defense being considered American and defence English, the defense spelling was in use in England prior to the formation of the US and both are now commonly used interchangeably in English speaking countries ;)

I agree mate. It was essentially our u21. I'm actually proud of that performance because a) they're young, b) it was a difficult pitch to play and c) they've hardly played together.

I was very impressed with illori today, he had a very good game before his legs went, my 1st half MOM.

He was strong in his challenges, won most of his one on ones and make a few crucial blocks from crosses. We could really do with this guy getting his fitness up quick sharp and helping in certain games. On this performance he deserves a chance, made Enrique look like a kid with his decision making anyway.

One thing I would say reading through these comments and watching the match is a lot of people are unfairly hammering Benteke.

As I've said it other posts we did not utilise him effectively which meant he barely got a sniff.

That second half we did absolute nothing but defend until we scored pretty much out of the blue.

Only other chance was when we actually played the ball in with quality and his header was saved.

Benteke did nothing wrong in that game, he brought the ball down well when the ball wasn't hoofed out of play by the likes of Enrique.

Obviously him fitting into the team long term other than super sub is difficult to see - but the guy did not deserve the hammering he has from some tonight on here.

    Its easy to scapegoat.

Harsh to judge youngsters on one off performances but Randall and Stewart aren't good enough .

Thought he was rusty (as expected), but largely solid.

I would love to say he made Enrique look like a rookie but in all fairness, Enrique is not a centre back and has hardly played first team football in a while as well.

But Ilori is talented - if he can maintain his fitness, he can go far.

Not answering the question until you spell defence properly.

A strop because the quality of the football was poor.

I thought the odd player did okay but none really took the chance given to them and we scraped a replay.

I don't see many positives to us other than Ojo and Smith might be worth a run.

I agree, the game was a nothing game really. I said before the game, the FA cup is not a priority for us this season and especially with the current injury problems.
It was a good chance for the youngsters to gain experience, for the manager to have a look at them in a game and judge which ones could be useful in supporting the first team.

The game was a bit **** for the purists, but then it was a L2 team vs an U21s team, what do people expect.

It was great fun though but you are basically on the money really.

There was a bit of exaggeration of certain guys play who shall remain nameless who will be sold this summer without doubt.

We were playing gea really poor side there.

Some guys did better than others but if that was first preseason game that would prob be the result too. Non entity of a real game but Exeter will love it and rightly so.

Btw bogdan will not get another game under klopp I think

One guy who seems to escape the wrath is Bogdan.

For the love of god we struggle with keepers.
