That doesn't make it good enough to win an Academy Award.

By that logic Avatar should have won everything in 2009, and Star Wars and Jurassic World should win everything for 2015.

    Success does not equal quality.

Well, he asked me how my studies were going and hoped I said I was failing, what do you expect?

Benjamin Button is really weird, it sticks out in his filmography as it is completely different (most of his work being quite dark or crime based).

It's a romantic fantasy drama, really not my cup of tea. The effects are pretty good though, and Brad Pitt puts in a decent performance.

Fight Club is much better second time round, I remember watching it in the cinema and being bored at times

Huh? Not bothered about what, precisely? Surely you must agree that Frozen was a major hit with its intended audience?

I really didn't like it first time around, either, didn't understand the appeal whatsoever, and it took me a few years before I watched it again, at which point it was a lot better.

Another film I felt similar around was Christopher Nolan's Memento, which is a complete mindfuck first time round.

Surprising actually how many films are better the second time round, same thing applies to TV. Started watching X Files again 23 years on and its seeming a lot more interesting the second time around, lots of little nuances I didn't notice as a kid. I think a lot of the screenwriting carried over to Breaking Bad years later same people or something, I read something before about that, clever stuff anyway

What on earth makes you think I hoped you were failing? Those were your words, not mine, hence my "Paranoia will destroy ya" follow-up.
You've completely missed the point I was implying: that if you spend as much time watching movies as you indicate, you cannot be spending as much time on your studies as you need to be if you aspire to a first-class degree -- as you should do. It would have a much bigger impact on your career than you may imagine.

Some films are meant to be seen more than once, those two are prime examples.

Even though (as a comic book fan) I prefer The Dark Knight, Memento is definitely his best film.
