people get addictions and stresses and have mental health problems and things they cant deal with. it isnt always something they can do enough about.
Hopefully some good might come from this and people with similar problems might get the help that saves them
A big mate of mine kicked the big H. He said it was the hardest thing he's ever done. Who knows why someone gets into a state of dependance > addiction? But they do, and then it's a sickness. They deserve sympathy. I'm not including those folks who get into it cos their mates do....cos it's a big thing, and they are somehow superior to 'straight' people. The stress of a performing career is massive...no sleep; look good; do interviews; do photo-sessions; fly into different time zones; etc. The main thing is that you cease to be yourself and start to become a thing owned by other people, by the public, the fans. Where to hide? How to escape?
This isn't an argument about who did or didn't deserve to die. Amy winehouse was for people who know, and love their music,a truly awesome musician. And some of us feel robbed of her talent. The tragic and pure evil events that happened in Norway yesterday are two completely different things ! Don't suggest to any one, that because they'll miss Amy,they don't care about the poor souls who died in Norway. A ridiculous argument !
Yeah very sad, puts it all in perspective, poor lass was doomed I think- theres a few people tonight who i know this has touched if not on here so cant help but be affected by it
Will you have sympathy to every smackhead that overdoses? Or just the ones that could belt out a noise some people liked?
GREAT LOSS TO THE MUSIC WORD. GREAT VOICE. But this news is not really a surprise is it ? Sad but no surprise. She really should have gone to Re-Hab.
that prick she was seeing got her on drugs, people can be easily lead,of course she deserves sympathy,if she hadnt met that twat she may have gone down a different road. the dickhead
Yeah pretty much agree she needs sympathy not condemnation, its clear she was on a path to hell, people are entitled to their opinions but there is no doubt Amy touched a lot of people, true enough so many people suffer with the same problems I would never say otherwise
No!............not having that.......fantastic singer without even trying. Shame about the person inside.
27 is no age to leave this world, no matter what or why she felt the need to do as she did, please bear a thought for her family and the families of all young people who choose the path Amy felt she had to follow. A tragic waste of life.
I was reluctant to post in this thread really, as the death of any person is a sad occasion, especially at such a young age, so it can be rather insensitive to have a discussion about the appropriateness of the public grief shown regarding the death of somebody. However, if this was some 27 year old addict from Orchard Park, would there be such sympathy? I'm not saying it is wrong that there is sympathy for the family of Amy Winehouse, i'm just curious why people are only upset about the deaths that the media tells them to be upset about.
I accept your point - but people in the media, people know about. A.N. Other from Orchard Park, people don't. I don't think it's the media with most people, just the familiarity. If someone you knew of down your street, but rarely, if ever, spoke to - I think you would have the same reaction to someone like Amy Winehouse dying. I think it's just familiarity. And also - I think people are jumping the gun a little. She may have a reputation - but no cause of death has been given yet. Before people comment on her lifestyle - let's let the pathologists have their say.
With the news of Amy Winehouse's death, many people have been expressing their sympathies for her drug dealer, claiming that he would go out of business. I feel no such sympathy. He made a killing today.
