Yep I do H , at least she lived a life of sorts in the fast lane , she knew the consequences, those poor noggy kids were killed for being in the wrong place at the wrong time! Country still in shock , all flags are flying at half mast, football programme this weekend has been cancelled! although life goes as as normal , quite resilient these norwegians, The good thing is all the right wing political parties have had their popularity slashed! Guy that did it was a farmer and had access to weapons and chemicals needed to make a bomb ! I live in the middle of farmer country and most are right wing ,racist tossers, we have suffered racism for the last 5 years! they are now starting to understand we are here to stay and have eased off! Out of farmer country and in the cities the Norwegians are a great and friendly and helpful people!

It was the sequel to 'That'll be the Day'...it was a great film...but so sad...the life of a kid who dreams of being a rock star, and makes it big, and gets into drugs..and well, we know the rest. Amy Winehouse, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix...and heaps of others...just too sad.

You can't compare Norway...both tragedy in their own way. Those poor kids and their families had no choice..so so tragic. The guy was a nutter...there are nutters everywhere but they don't often kill as many people as he did, and certainly not in a country like Norway. i've known racism too, it's not pretty.

Too right but it does pull you and your other half closer together as a unit , and you go into a siege mentality.

Temptation put in front of someone who is weak willed and wants to conform with the norm in their fictious world, ends in tragedy! She just followed much like the Lemmings, some people cannot say no and want to be accepted into their world.

Sorry Al I dont buy in to that , no one forced her to drink , no one forced her to do drugs, She took her decision and paid the consequence! If you like the only thing she was guilty of was stupidity! the drink will prob get me in the end ,but its my choice and my decision! A true tragedy is when innocents are the victims and I dont see Amy as an innocent!

Mate I agree, she could have said no quite easily but under peer pressure? I feel for her family, drink killed my old man and with my problems with my liver I do wonder, but luckily I can say no. saying that I am sitting here with a bottle of beer:)

It's hard to say that in truth Norway. it's difficult not to get swept along in that world, if you're not a strong character. And for all her brash approach, i don't believe she was a strong, confident person. In a small way, i'd compare it to going on diet (coz i know about that a lot!). You can love food and you can choose to eat the bad stuff or not. It's very difficult, when you're out with friends, to say no to the bad stuff, for lots of reasons. No, it's not going to kill you like drugs do, but it's bad for you. Like smoking. Cigarette addiction is hideously difficult to drop. It's easy for us to say "she could have said no" but i can guarantee it's not easy for an addict.

Saying no..is not so easy. But her family? Yes, very very sad for them...to have watched her slowly killing herself...

Over the years I watched my dad drink himself to death, he could not say no many a time he had a beer for breakfast. He was ex Navy in the days when a tot of rum was the norm, then he went onto work in the Bells Distillery, where again the norm for a xmas bonus was bottles of Scotch! I could go on but I feel I have said enough on my old man!

I cannot say that her music was to my taste, but I admire all musicians who are creative and prepared to stand up and have their work scrutinised. The feeling of nervousness before you go on stage can be quite gripping and seemingly some cannot overcome their fear with out the aid of a prop.
I had the feeling that she had a very troubled soul, so I hope that she can rest in peace now.
