Curtis speaking at today's news conference:
"I always felt that we had enough. For whatever reason we find ourselves in this position, the league table doesn’t lie.
Part of the decision to take this job was that there has been a reaction in the last five games.
We’ve been a little unfortunate not to pick up more points.
Management is a different animal these days to when I was playing. In those days managers would literally grab you and pin you up against the wall.
I’ve been very fortunate to work with a lot of great managers in the Premier League.
Michael Laudrup is an example, everyone knew where they stood with Michael."

The last two lines make for interesting reading. Curtis singling out Laudrup, and describing him as being "a great manager".

Dai referred to Laudrup as being "useless",and Dragon saw him as "a loser".

Just makes me wonder if Curtis is really up to the task ahead. <laugh>

A nice little thought roof but is it not the case that jinx has been rejected by good managers that he is left with no alternative. This is more likely tbh. I will be backing my friend to the hilt but lets look at his job that he has got to do that has not been done all season........We have still got no regular goal scorer, We have not put a string of wins together all season and the most important is he will still have jinx calling the shots. I feel sorry for curt i really do as the younger generation fans dont really know curt like the older generation and i feel he will get so much stick and booed at the ground that it will hurt him bad......Jinx and his board has a lot to answer for this season and we should be venting our anger towards them and not Monk and now Curt. They have let us down and now nobody good wants to join us ...and that's unheard of for a premiership side.....even Villa and Sunderland are strengthening ffs.....

Monk , Jenkins and the board deserved their boos in general imo , we will have to wait to see how Curtis fares.
If things go south with Curtis in charge , there will be lots of to go around on the ladder of blame , but Curtis will be on the bottom rung imo

    @Laudrop Sychophant

    Laudrop's 1st season

    14 Games lost
    13 Games drawn
    11 Games won

11 wins from 38 games, lost more than he won.

    Laudrop's 2nd season

    12 Games lost
    06 Games drawn
    06 Games won

6 Wins in 24 games before being rightly sacked as a loser, it's all a matter of record, including his lucky cup win, very poor manager as I see it......<laugh>

    "including his lucky cup win".

As compared to Cupless' unlucky attempt at winning one. <laugh>

Another parting shot at Monk. I've read that Curt didn't have much input under Monk. Anyone know if this is true? Certainly shows that Curt didn't agree with what Monk was doing given his interviews and player selections etc.

If we go down, Curtis won't be close to the bottom of the ladder of blame.

He will for me , and you can't will that away ....it's all opinions valley .
Curtis was thrown into this mess , team moral at a low , most of the squad not playing , Jenkins and the board letting it go on to the point where managers and players alike don't want to come .
There is a good chance we won't get any transfers and even if we do there is a good chance that it's someone we had to " Settle " for and probably for to much money .
If we go down Jenkins and Monk with fight it out for gold and silver in the blame games and Curtis will have to settle for a bronze at best , probably doesn't even make the podium in my books ...but like I say , opinions are like arseholes ....

Of course Curtis won't get any of the blame. Anyway, he'll keep us up, so no point arguing over something that will not happen <cheers>

Laudrup had a poor record but that was not the whole reason for his sacking......He could not manage off the field day to day running of the club......He would walk around as if he was some sort of king and would treat players with contempt. That was if he ever turned up. the mans ego got him the sack.....He just use to sit in his seat on match days like a zombie not saying or giving any direction at all....He could have improved his technical ability but he showed no interest.....He thought he was better than he was as his ego got the better of him....
