Perhaps this thread should be renamed the great Tottenham finances conundrum! The only club whose chairman sells all their best players, then spends it all on rubbish players, but who also takes out huge chunks of the money in pay rises whilst also presiding over the largest profit ever made by a premier league club (which of course may justify the pay rise!) and of course they also have the smallest net transfer spend in the league.
As much as some of us might like to kid ourselves that the owners of our particular club are lifelong supporters, philanthropists, etc, they almost certainly aren't. They're businessmen! They bought your club because they saw a money making opportunity. Make no mistake, if for some reason the current torrent of money pouring into the premier league were to cease, or abate for any reason, the 'soccer' loving Americans, and others, who currently are the majority owners of EPL clubs, will dump them like a hot potato!

There is some truth in that, but there are only 3 domestic trophies available to win each season (4 if you include European competitions) There are 96 Clubs that play league football in this country (including the one I actually support) and all but 4 would probably swap there last 10 seasons league performance with Spurs so Levy must be doing something right. And lets be honest in those 10 seasons you have not exactly been awash with trophies yourself - in fact in that time you have won exactly 1 more trophy than Spurs have!
We have won 2 major trophies in the last 2 years, and many more in last 20 years - what have Spurs won in the last 20 years (I can't be arsed to look it up)
