think his leg broke which caused the fall.

    Terribly sad.

not sure if this has been reported but Ryan Moore believes he was struck into by Rewilding when the accident happened and that caused Workforce to hang. Not sure about it myself as I haven't watched it back. (turned tv off)

    Desperate
I thought Gosden was excellent in his explaination given to the BBC. He was obviously quite emotional about his death.

Takes the shine off what was probably a top performance. He beat St Nicholas Abbey easily. What the hell was wrong with Workforce, has he something wrong physically or was it the bit again?

But Rewilding's death will mark this year's race and reminded me of the desperate site of Angers in the Derby.

The competition disappeared into the background.

Poor Rewilding, it was sickening. I just can't imagine how distressing that is for connections. It was distressing enough witnessing it on TV. I really don't feel like doing the tables but it will only take a couple of minutes so I might as well get it done.

I'm afraid it's going to take a long while for me (and my wife) to get over that; it's very depressing.

Tragic end to Rewilding. Also thought the interview with John Gosden, his explanation was informative and in a way reassuring (ie how it happend and the horse was calm)

Yes, it helped a bit. Full marks to JG and BBC for that.

<peacedove> I'm not ashamed to say watching what happened Rewilding even made me shed a tear. It can be the most heartbreaking of sports at times like this. I hate to see things happen to those marvellous animals <peacedove>

Sorry, Nassau, life goes on I know, but after yesterday's tragic event(s) who gives a flying **** about winners? I don't.
