spot on blue dude.......Southampton got it right and shows what giving youth a chance can do.......look at Rambo from our academy hardly given a chance by dave jones but let loose by wenger.,,........he is fast becoming one of the best buys wenger has ever made and one of the best players in Europe 2boot.
from my past experience(my playing days) butty it isn't always the best that get the pro contract for some reason back in my day it was who`s dad was pulling strings.........and looking at the set up from the rhondda based Cambrian club nothing has changed from what I saw from my boys and other kids trials...........I think ive told you before why I struggled supporting Jason bowen for us>>>not just because of his jack background it was the fact I smashed the little prick out of the game whenever we came up against each other, tiz very hard paying 2 watch someone not good enough 2 lace your boots I tell thee.
Both are long overdue - sorry Stevo....... http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/...rdiff-city-offload-strikers-federico-10695415
It's okay Steve, we understand and sympathise with your loss. I'm sure you will find another City player on whom you can focus your undivided love and affection.
It'll be interesting to see where he ends up. His record of 8 in 28 (with loads of sub appearances) is respectable. His record of 28 appearances is certainly not. I'm not surprised the club have run out of patience. If he can ever manage to stay fit and play a run of games he will definitely score consistently at Championship level. It does seem that he isn't physically capable of achieving that so I can't argue that it's time to cut the losses. As for other players to place any hope on, I'm not holding my breath tbh. Maybe Big R will surprise us all and uncover a few gems............
If he's contracted to the end of the season it might not be so easy to offload him now - maybe on loan with us still picking up a share of his wages. Alternatively he could get a pay when you play deal. He's hardly a major attraction taking all into account. Depends how far he is prepared to drop his expectations and wages. The same goes for Revell although he will come at a lower cost and has a reasonable record in the lower divisions which will make him more attractive to Div 1 and 2 clubs. His age will also impact on any financial package he can get. We can only assume the club have someone lined up to come in as if they go, with KWJ gone and Doyle, Le Fondre and Healey also out on loan we are left with Watt (assuming we sign him permanently), Mason and Saadi (when fit). I guess we have a recall on Doyle but we will be pretty short in the striking department - unless you include Ameobi - I wouldn't.
You forgot Doyle and Tamas. Slade is a serial failure when it comes to recognising what it takes to compete successfully at this level. His tactical awareness (lack of) doesn't help matters either. We'd have done a lot better if we had someone at the helm capable of getting the best out of what we had with one or two quality tweaks, rather than recruiting a basketfull of also-rans.
I'm sure we'll try to sign a target man type striker this month. I know that's a poorly kept secret but I am confident we'll look elsewhere if the attempt to sign Weghorst (sp?) fails. I agree 100% with the opinion (you could say fact) that Slade is totally incapable of signing anything other than full backs. He seems even less able to sign players to fit into a bigger picture of where the club is heading (unless you say L1......). If I was in charge I'd give him the funds he's releasing to buy or loan a target man. I'd give him **** all else and spend the next 3 months persuading Nigel Pearson we're the place he needs to relaunch his career. The squad that is currently competing for the CL places was built pretty much by him. We've got 70% of a decent side, we just need a guy who can recognise the right players to improve it, not just sign journey men or average players no better than what we have.
Pearson is just biding his time, enjoying spending his pay off money and waiting for the next mid to low PL job. He wouldn't come regardless due to having to tug Tan's forelock.
At last, City aiming high this time. http://www.eastgrinsteadcourier.co....ad-Town-loan/story-28480708-detail/story.html
Reaching for the sky then. A teenager, another one for the future? I know the likes of Jamie Vardy and Dele Alli have been plucked from lower league clubs and there is a growing opinion that higher level clubs should be looking lower down the ladder to unearth home grown talent rather than shelling out shedfulls of money to disinterested foreigners (and that is right to an extent) but, if this is true, what our management don't seem to understand that a club rises or falls by it's success on the pitch. Lack of it results in less entertainment, declining crowds, less passion from the fans and a continued downward cycle. If this turns out to be the extent of our ambitions then we are proceeding down the pan at an ever increasing rate and all of our stadium will turn into a white elephant, not just VT's upper level folly. Do we have to do a Cambodia and revert to a "Year Zero" policy to go all the way down before we go back up again?
Do you really think Tan has anything like the involvement he supposedly used to have? He seems to barely show any interest in the club, I can't imagine a manager would have to answer to him on any sort of regular basis. He was sacked (for non football reasons) by a side in the bottom 6 of the PL, I can't imagine he'll find it easy to walk into another PL job and if he does it'll be at a side well on it's way to the Championship already. Sunderland and Villa have already bypassed him. He's not a big enough name for the Geordies, he's not the Jack's 'type'. If he has any aspirations of returning to management I reckon the next time you see him he'll be in the mid/playoff region of the Championship.
Wout is out. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/cardiff-city-not-sign-wout-10701046
I love this time of year - bollucks to the football and let's enjoy the other side of it. To be honest, it's more entertaining at the moment.........
