Does anyone know where the expression "Stiffs" for "Reserves" comes from?

It's some kind of term that came into use in the 50's so older posters might know from where exactly

 

stiffs = dead bodies = deadwood = has beens = also rans

Indeed so. Brighton have some worries for sure now.

No chance of any youth players, too many first teamers not getting any action and Bruce doesn't consider any of them good enough apparently, not even in a tinpot cup match. I suspect this will be the game that Alex Bruce miraculously becomes fit again.

Went out of the league cup and fa cup with a whimper so we could concentrate on staying in the Prem.

I know in stating the obvious, but isn't it easier to just get them online and print them out at home?

I dont have one coz ive had 4 twats and they always break

 

This is a perfect system for those who have access to suitable facilities but as I have stated elsewhere on here, it can be difficult and inconvenient just to obtain tickets to attend matches for many who have not. The provision of no cash turnstiles must surely be making a real difference to casual supporter attendances.

 

For away tickets, we are now to be charged a £2 booking fee for buying them in person at Tiger Leisure (the online charge is 60p for postage). If you buy them on the phone, you pay the £2 booking fee and the 60p postal charge.

That seems a bit steep.

 

and coupled with the swingeing increase in ticket prices over the past 2 years it seems the aim is to minimise attendances!
