At least the rumors are getting more realistic. The quality of CB linked with have drastically come down since the heady days of Nkoulou, Ranocchia, and Koulibally.

Timm Klose, Baffo and Niedermeier would be decent Championship signings. Best of them would have been Niedermeier. He could probably do a job in the Premiership.

No more talk on striker Haller? I really liked that idea.
EDIT: Just googled him. funnily enough 14 hours a go, was a story we have stepped up interest, but face a battle from Southampton, Bournemouth, Sunderland and Villa now.

I think Naismith is our primary target for a forward.

I'd hope we'd be looking to sign him and a smaller pacey striker. Especially if we sell Grabban which is looking likely.

I like to keep ahead of the game, Rob! <laugh>

The other answer might be that the Daily Fail were also trawling the PinkUn Board.

WalesOnline reckon we've made a bid for Craig Noone, who we pursued last January too. Not convinced he's what we need.

From looking at some Blackburn rumours, it sounds like Lambert wants to get the old band back together, and sign Pilks and Holt to go with Bennett.

In fairness, we've almost certainly signed Pinto and are just waiting for the international clearance to come through. Apparently he's been taking part in training all this week.

Shani Tarashaj from Grasshoppers is reportedlyclose to signing, but Everton plan to loan him back to his club for the rest of the season. If that's the case then I doubt that impacts on any deal for Naismith.

This looks to be the case so Jarvis / Pinto in and Bennett out. I was just wonder if we are looking to do our business early, what the definition of early is so I can get an idea when we've finished. At the moment I'm hoping early is any other day other than the last day of the window. I'm certainly hoping early isn't the first week.

I think we wont finish our business until the wire, but I also feel that the major targets will be in by about the 20th Jan.

City prepared to sanction a permanent move to Sheffield Wednesday for Gary Hooper providing they meet our £3.5M asking price.

How much did we get him for? About 5? 3.5M isn't too shoddy. As long as we put it towards bringing in a CB and a striker.

Would be happy with that. He is not going to get at look in at arrow Road these days, so wages off the books and one more place vacant in the band of 25.

Apparently Andreu has just returned from his loan at Rotherham and "is in Neil's plans". I did think he'd be one of the one's we'd let go but apparently not.

He's a sort of attacking, creative CM isn't he? Kind of like a Wes? Maybe he wants the option of something a bit different in the middle aside the bulky defensive players.

I'm a bit worried that we seem so prepared to sell Hooper, Grabban and Lafferty. If al three went we'd need at least Naismith and another to feel comfortable

Frankly, £3.5m would be an excellent price for Hooper IMO. I think we could take as low as £2m.
