I've had three days off over the Christmas period and that's it for me this year. However, the upside is that working for myself I only have to work about a few hours a day and most of that is automated when I work in the evenings. So apart from some admin during the morning today the rest of the day is going to be spent wandering around where we're staying today taking pictures and just reading. One of the upsides of working for oneself is that there's an immense amount of flexibility and the downside is that I have to be 'on' for some part of the day. Thankfully I have no code I wish to update today so I am going to have an easy one today. So as long as I have internet connection here in The Gin Palace I can be anywhere in the UK/Europe and today we're north of Sheffield and tomorrow we're going down to Radnorshire for a week before heading towards Cornwall for another week.
Yes, and the best bit is that if I arrange to land in a TV black spot on match days then the incidences of depression on The Gin Palace are significantly diminished. Anyway, have just landed in Radnorshire and it's strange to be in a part of Cymru where they only speak English.
What work do you do mate if you don't mind me asking? It sounds like you might tarmac drives given the travelling aspect, but I get the feeling it's IT related?
It is related to IT in that I produce ratings for horse racing. And we travel for the time being because, well, why not?
Well.. 4 days in and it's like I haven't been away. Turning my thoughts to foreign trips now to help give me something to focus on!
One of the reasons why I stopped working for other people was that when I came back from a break it didn't take long for the whole feeling of rest, peace and quiet to be replaced by the usual **** and stress dumped from high from manglement. The record for this for me was forty-five minutes of my returning on the first day back. And then I started to wonder what the hell I was doing...
Nope im watching Clive trying to save his house from flooding. Its absolutely fantastic he's spent about a year ensuring his lawn is perfectly flat ♭
