Possibly is, I just feel the two domestic cups have now been demoted to 4/5th place behind CL, PL and top 4.
Sad but true, back in the 60s, 70s and 80s I valued all domestic trophy's as equal, something that all teams fought for.

The reality is that although it is nice to win a trophy and to have a day out at wemberley, the cups are not as important to a club as fourth place/CL Place

Not only finance but also getting the top players. LFC as a club has to do everything to get 4th. Martinez is right

 

Nah give me a cup win over 4th place any day of the week

 

Winning it gets a place in Europe the following season, if we finish lower than 4th and out of the Europa places in the league a LC win would be very handy indeed.

 

I wouldn't say no too. But given the choice between participating in the world's top club competition next season and a league cup this, I would choose the 4th place Wenger trophy

And many of us think like this if we were willing to admit to it...

 

As lfc fan I know our uefa coefficient.

We need to play europa for a couple more years to set us up to be good enough to compete in cl.

We need the coefficient to not be 4th seeds too.
