    He was obscuring the keepers view of the shot in an offside position and moved out of the way just before it hit him. Going by the new rule, he should have been ruled offside.

    Quite right, the new rule states he must attempt to affect play. He clearly didn't.

    Standing in middle of 6 yard box in front of keeper and the ball goes less than a foot away from him.... Pretty sure he's affecting play.
