Totally agree, I wasn't trying to compare them to a valid Muslim state and I acknowledge that they are a corrupt Monachy that is being proped up by the US, but as the custodians of the Holy Kaaba they would understandably be seen as the people to follow in the Muslim world and outside.

    Why the whole system sucks!!

    http://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/uknew...tem-say-labour-mps/ar-BBnXM5E?ocid=spartandhp

Don't you think it is about time the honours systems was scrapped. If it is to be kept the people who deserve the recognition are our ambulance workers, fire personnel, nurses, teachers, our road sweepers, toilet cleaners and NOT the famous be it in sport, entertainment, industry, the armed forces, except for the lower ranks and certainly NOT politicians, David Cameron should hang his head in shame for this.

I like the idea of an honours system and think regardless of the career you hold you should be able to achieve one provided it is for exceptional achievement or service to the country.

Cameron it would appear has also given the green light for the opposite party member of the Labour Party to be given an honour to match this conservative dude. Though if your issue is with any politician receiving an honour rather than a Tory getting one, I suppose it doesn't matter that it's not biased towards one party!

No politician or his advisors, campaign managers should ever be knighted regardless of party affiliation. The fire personnel in N8 always serve their community to their utmost so they do deserve a knighthood.

Even after they have left there roles within government? I'd have no issue with an ex-MP receiving honours for services to the country. Some MPs dedicate huge amounts of there lives to the country and serve us really well. Whilst I can see the argument for not handing out said honours whilst they are actively part of the government, I see no issue if they have left there post.

AFCFTW!! I think we shall have to agree to disagree on this. No politician has served his country with dedication and purpose like our firefighters, police services (despite their faults), nurses, street cleaners, our foot soldiers in Afghanistan and so on!! Politicians are well rewarded as it is, why pile more on to them? I'll leave it that and do respect your views. Have a Happy New Year's Eve AFCFTW.

It does seem a little hypocritical of him to be pushing people out of the party for not towing the party line when he himself has made a career out of voting against the Labour Party.
