That was the one where England went out to Canada.

The fact that Roger Hunt turned away to celebrate has always convinced me that it was over the line.

Same here, if he hadn't been sure he was close enough, with enough forward momentum, to be first to the ball to smash it into the back of the net.

Exactly, Hunt was a poacher and would have taken any chance to get his name of the score sheet.

I think the fact he said we went out to Canada might suggest he knows.

I'll never forget Wilkie's winning goal in Canada on a waterlogged pitch.

One thing that hasn't changed - goalies with 5 minutes to go still have time to smoke a Woodbine and finish a pint of bitter while taking a goal-kick.

The fella who was on Talksport yesterday who was at the match said the same thing, he saw it then saw Hunts reaction. The Sky tech just confirms it, looks clear cut even.

The back pass to the keeper law was the best thing that ever happened to the game, I grew up watching bloody Liverpool pass back all the time, enough to put anybody off football and it certainly put me off Liverpool

Phil Thompson and Emlyn Hughes were the two most boring, unwatchable footballers of all time.

I hated all their defence, Hansen, Lawrenson the lot, so negative. On a seperate note regarding the pass back law, there used to be a song sung by Forest fans 'you'll never beat Des Walker''... well you never could till the backpass law came in and he became useless overnight

For the record the violence, crowd disturbance call it what you like, both inside and outside of the grounds, has been a blight for years, and years ago was no different. Back in the 60's the culprits were any number of teams you wished to nominate, but the teams that come to mind as forever being in the news were Millwall, Leeds, Man Utd, Chelsea, Rangers and Celtic when they had a barney, to name a few. So much so that nets were put behind the goals, just like you see on the continent. At BP they looked bluddy awful and eventually sanity prevailed but seating came in to deaden the atmosphere of the standing experience which was so much of the culture of football grounds of those days. And other instances occurred in a wider sphere to influence events, Heysel, and Ibrox come to mind but there were others, and as they say, the rest is history.

I think it disadvantaged teams like Wimbledon and Watford more. Half their game was getting the ball in the keeper's hands and launching it as far into the opposition half as possible. Whereas Clemence would often throw the ball out to the full backs. Who would often return it to Clemence yes. :azn:

It mebbe did ET, but as long as it prevented the dirty, mealy-mouthed, condescending, bin-dipping scouse bastards from winning the title, I don't really ****in' care!
