Well it's a bit quiet here today and was wondering if you think we should welcome wums on here ? Was looking at Betty Boop's cry baby thread on Cardiff's forum and was thinking that we have our fair share of wind up merchants on here!

I mean that nasty nasty man aber is always on here doing a bit of a wum, but I notice that he gets a fair welcome on here, and can't see anyone getting personal.

So is a multi club and sport forum intended to have a banter, is being touted now to be draconian worse than the BBC because certain cry babies think that this forum is their own fiefdom, and not an open forum for everyone to contribute.

The difference is aber actually cares about football. Anyone who comes on here solely to wind other people up should be shown a swift red card in my opinion...

it only a wum if you dont like what others say about your club. in a lot of cases what you deemed to be a wum is actually close to the truth and its something that you secretly agree with but wont admit it......and then there are definite wums like JH who do it to get fans reaction.

Freedom of choice. Personally I'm against. Not being a spoilsport but my time is limited and I come on here for info about my club, players, other clubs and general footy chat and opinion.

I can't stand it when someone goes off topic because of a wum and the thread degenerates into point scoring, insults and God knows what else. The whole point of the thread is lost and I have to wade through post after rubbish post to find the comments I'm looking for.

Believe me, I'm not a kill-joy but some of the so-called banter on 606 did my head in because so much of it was pointless, ignorant and banal in the extreme. "My club is bigger than your club"; "your striker is crap"; "our attendance is better than yours"; "my dad could beat your dad", and so on ad nauseum. Furkin pathetic!!

Banter can be entertaining, particularly witty banter but if guys want to post a wum then develop an "insult" sticky or something, so those of us who want to, can steer well clear: and I've got to say, by the way, that I really enjoy the "Joke" sticky. Get a good few smiles there.

Dai I agree with you, but a forum is an open place to post opinions, sometimes I don't like yours but that is the way of the world, a wum post is a matter of perspective mostly and one that can be countered or argued against, the fact that someone is calling for a ban on posters goes against the philosophy of a forum!

If someone is disrupting a forum by meaningless posts there are moderators who can deal with it, that is the point of having moderation on forums, if someone is trying to bar an opinion because it does not fit in with their ideals, it just means they are not mature enough to deal with it, kinda like I'm going to tell daddy if you do that!

Thing is mate without wums, or should I say dissenting voices the forum as we know it will falter, otherwise all we will get is everyone agreeing with each other, also as a user can place someone on an ignore list or simply ignore the person posting the comments it's down to them really

Someone like Aber is welcome, always has a good laugh with him he only really defends his team to the hilt and I've no problem with that. There are a few Cardifff wums who do not follow his example and are just simply Wayne kerrs. Mind you QPR have a few clowns too

Oh! Is that what it is?!

Then the answer to this thread is, yes. Let 'em come and have their fun. I have no problem with 'em having a wind up/pop.

Lets just try and kerb the out-and-out assholes. (not sure if that's meant to be OAOA?)

Hey, Scott, even I knew STID, that's about the only one though!

Got to agree with the positive comments about Aber. You're a good egg, dude. It's the likes of JH & Co who stick in my craw. I just wish that they'd take their collective brain cell and infest somewhere else.

If you don't like wums then just ignore them. It's that simple. They only exist because people react to them, which is what they want. People reacting to them proves that they are wanted. Otherwise why would you bother replying?

I find the banter funny. I don't post much but it keeps the board interesting to read when there's no football on.
