But this is modern football, the club MUST know whether he's interested or not? Either way 30m is a fcking disgrace when we have Dummett at left back. That money could buy Willems, Rhodes and Carroll.
Willems is a summer target, still injured, would fail a medical right now and by the time his fit the window would have closed. He may even still fail a medical when fit (Playing fit) so buying him now makes no sense. Im not sure whether the club should look elsewhere to buy right now, or wait till summer and buy him Rhodes - No Carroll - No, not at 18m, perhaps 10 but west ham wouldnt
We need to stop wasting our time on this **** he clearly doesn't want to come to us. Let him rot in Ligue 1
Is this a case of the club put in a bid knowing Lacazette would turn us down or are they actually being serious?
Mate, a medical isn't about whether you're able to run or not! It's about your medical history, blood type, health problems, history, likelihood of repetition of injury and insurance. Willems could pass a medical on crutches, if the club wanted to take the risk. Ok, if not Rhodes, what about the likes of Andre Grey, Benik Afobe even Charlie Austin? Carroll shouldn't cost more than £10m based on his appearances.
I wish that were true, but look at Thauvin. They bid several times for the kid, he never wanted to come, but eventually money caught up with Marseille and they had no-one left to sell, whilst our idiots were still standing there with a cheque for £13m. Subsequently he's now worth about £5m and more of the same performances should see him leave, on strike and on a free, to Turkey. The only player I was happy to see them pursuing without the player seeming keen was Pierre-Emerick Aubmeyang, before Borussia Dortmund joined the party. This just smacks of complete desperation and shows more of how limited Graham Carr has become. They want to throw the entire pot at some bloke he doesn't want to be here, who is not guaranteed to be any better than Mitrovic and who barely gets in the France squad.
I think medicals these days are very stringent because of the amount of money involved. I get what your saying, but I cant recall a single club purchsing a player who has had quite a bad injury and yet to make a full recovery. Austin over Grey and Afobe, at this moment in our precarious position in the league, we kinda need to go all out and get some certified guarenteed quality in who are going to produce results and get out out of the position we are in. West ham would never accept 10, they are in the position to gamble with him, hope he has a blinding second half of the season and his not in bad form at the moment. Last time we were near relegation we spent 20m on Moussa, Haidaira, Goufran, Mbwia and debuchy I dont see this year being much different, 20-30m spend, on 3-4 players.
I don't believe a ****ing word of this. The day we spend that much is the day I suck the warty, crimson shaft of Satan and swallow his black, volcanic Jism.
There isnt a chance of us signing him. Its mike ashley! Big spending is like swimming to him. He might dip a toe in, maybe a sly leg, but eventually he'll remember all that exertion seems pointless when you can just sit around and have a cheap tesco brand pie (Henri Saivet) Not even a ****ing Andy Carroll
Get Debuchy on loan for the rest of the season [£1 million] and stick Janmaat on the right wing. Wing problem sorted. Would also allow Sissoko to move into DM [his best position.] Stick Thauvin on the left and give him a run. Sign a good left back which will allow Thauvin to concentrate on attacking. Striker - Austin/ Remy. Wijnaldum as a number 10 behind the two strikers.
I don't know why we are debating this, or asking who's best from Lacazette, Austin, Carroll, we won't be getting any of them! 30 million, never in a month of Sunday's. And even if it is true, why oh why are we wasting valuable time on a player that does not want to join us!!!! As has been quite rightly pointed out, if that sort of money is available there are better options to supplement our current squad and allow players to utilise their best positions on the field. Jesus and they say we are deluded, Carr et al want a bloody wake up call.
They think that they're playing Football Manager. That's the problem. We need to be realistic. Because of Mike Ashley and the way he's run this club we are no longer an attractive proposition for 'top' players. Lacazette must be laughing his tits off.
The only soft rumour that l would like to see come true, is the one that states Rafa Benetez is coming to take over from McLaren That would make me very happy indeed.
Charnley: "That's one fooled. 51999 to go" Andy Carroll is fantastic. He should just never have slept with you, you've ruined his body.
Penfold " Hello Alexandre its Lee Charnley here" Lacazette "Who" Penfold "Lee Charnley, the MD of Newcastle United" Lacazette "Tea Charnley, is that the man that makes ze tea at Newcastle United?" Penfold "Erm. Yes that's me. Listen we are a club with zero ambition, a ****e manager with a comical haircut, a chief scout that only has a pass for the Eurostar and a fat odious leech for an owner.............how would you like to join us? Lacazette "No tanks, tea, I mean Lee!!" Penfold "Phew, thought as much. Listen I'm going to put a ridiculous bid in for you even though we absolutely don't want you here. Will you promise to turn us down" Lacazette "Yes, zis is not a problem, I will scoff at the mere mention of joining such a piss poor club" Penfold "That's great Alex, I can send you an oversized Sports Direct mug for your troubles if you like? You can get lots of tea in it!" Lacazette "Ahh, ze oversized mug. The only thing along with cockroaches that would survive a nuclear blast. Zis is wonderful..merci"
