We could ask Carlo Nash back for another stint as deputy 'keeper.
I'm sure he'd come back here at the speed of light <yikes> <laugh>

A ‘penniless’ former City Premier League star, Carlo Nash has been banned from driving for 34 weeks after being clocked driving his Mercedes Benz at 140mph.

I think we need a bit more than an old hand bench warm. Rudd only needs to pick up a significant injury to put us back in the sh1t.

Whats to say Ruddy won't improve and get back to the standard he was. If he did get back to that standard I would think he'd be starting ahead of Rudd.

I think he's worth more to us and Bournemouth than £3M. Ultimately we would need £5M+ to replace him with comparible quality. For £5M I think we could consider it, but it would be dependant on Ruddy's state of mind. I would be more comfortable if we kept him till the summer though. The only way I could see it being only £3M is if they were taking Grabban as part of the deal!

    Bah!

Didn't we knock back something like £8m from Chelsea for him? They probably don't want him any more...

I think that's more like what he is worth, even having just been dropped to the bench and if we are desperate to offload him still he shouldn't be let go for less than £5m-6m. Especially not to Bournemouth. If we're desperate to get rid and happy to take less than that it should be to a Championship team.

I guess we do not know what has gone on in his personal life and also have no idea about whether his dip in form after the injury means he will never return to his previous level, so I am with Bath Canary on the point that we probably should sell if they are sure about either of those points. However, we should not be mugged off and we do need a decent backup.

Let's not forget that Rudd is 24 so yes young in goalkeeper terms, but really not that young. The only criticisms I have seen of him have been collecting crosses, both of which came in games where the match reports said there were swirling winds. He has picked up more clean sheets than Ruddy and has conceded an average of one a game, which is impressive. Ruddy at his best would only surpass him in terms of experience IMO.

Some moron on the EDP website said we should get rid of him because of what happened when he was confronted by a drunken youff. Most others convinced he should stay as back up to Rudd.

We've another young player on trial, Luke Pennell from Dunstable Town. 19 years old and attracting interest from Burnley, amongst others. 19 seems old for a youngster playing well down the football pyramid, who MK Dons let go, but that's neither here nor there really if he's any good.

We've also supposedly made a second offer for Ben Godfrey of York.

I wouldn't read to much into that Dave as it was reported in the Mirror. However IF it were true it would take a massive bid from Palarse circa £18-20M IMO as he is obviously part of AN's plans.

I know ILD would bite their hands off if they offered 18-20 bob though <laugh>

    Why?

Zaha and Bolasie are their first choice wingers, then they've got Puncheon, Sako and Chung-Yong Lee too. Redmond would really be struggling to make the squad.

Shame to see him go, but probably best for both parties. Hope he can really get his career going again.

I'll never forget how he set up 2 goals for us against Swans at the Liberty in our first season in the PL. I'm sure he'll do well at Blackburn.

True Braveheart - I also remember him covering at RB gainst Bolton when Ayala and Whitbread both got crocked in the first half and Rusty moved to CB (with Kyle Naughton) and Bennett covered Rusty's position - he was my MOTM that day.
