Well this is one thing us oldies can look back with relish, its was a triumph despite what those of a younger age try to rubbish as being 50 years ago, the ball never crossed the line and all the other **** that is thrown about by those who have never seen an England team as World Champions. I was 16 at the time and sat through that whole match, including extra time, being on the edge of the seat in a mates house, b&w tele, and literally biting your finger nails when the German's equalised at the last and having to sit through more drama not knowing if you would **** yourself. Then when those immortal Kenneth Wolstenhome words, 'They think its all over .......... it is now' when Geoff Hurst scored his final goal of a hat trick, a feat never repeated since even by all your multi million pound players of any nation, and male I am on about here not female footballers, then you may have lived a little in footballing terms.
