I just once saw big billy take on the entire Hartlepool team and most of their supporters when playing for donnie
Curtis ? Do me a favour he'd pick his ****ing teeth with what would be left of his limbs
Yeah Knighton was tough though so was waggy any forward playing when he did had to be a real hard bastard just to survive.
Little uns like bremner were tough though he had plenty of hard men to help him in his pomp with Leeds
Given today's refs and rules I wonder how long this lot would stay on the pitch

Really? If that's true it's sad and we should leave it there.

I'd play both of 'em, if you don't think Chillo was hard ask Duncan Forbes

Can't believe there's no place in midfield for Stuart Green. Even more shocked to see that Rocky isnt in there (although I've no idea on the etymology of his nickname).

I never said Chillo wasn't hard but for me Knighton needed included. As usual for me it was said tongue in cheek. I read in shoot magazine that Chillo was Forbes hardest opponent. I think that was around 1971

Some old boys used to go on about some one called Spud Murphy . Think he played for City in the 1940's and was a bit of a lad . Billy Bly has to be the goalie and wasn't Viggo Jensen quite tough .Also as mentioned earlier Stan McEwan a very hard tough defender who I recall giving John Fashaneu a rough ride when at Lincoln .

George"Spud" Murphy was one tough hombre. Only played 15 games(9 goals) in season'47-'48 being a centre forward converted from full-back. Often scored from crowded central positions when the goalie and/or other defender/s plus the ball ended in the net all bundled in by George.

Certainly the roughest centre forward I saw play for City.
