Thats the nub of our predicament. We want a 20+ goal a season striker for 3m and about 15k a week. They do not exist.For the budget we can afford, the likes of Wood or Antenucci are as good as we can expect.

 

So quality over quantity perhaps?

 

Unless we get a gem from the lower league's.If we had paid McCormack £30,000 the rest would have wanted the same and if they stopped putting in the effort McCormack can do little on his own.

 

But cant happen when we have a wage structure in place that no longer allows for 20k a week earners. I agree with the wage structure in the main as the club can not continue to lose money. Unfortunately it rules out the top quality strikers. I read someone was willing to offer 8m to prise Jordan Rhodes away and presumably a hefty wage. That sort of stuff for example, is way out of our league

 

But if we do find that gem, itll take no more than 12 months for his agent to start banging on the door demanding the big wages anyway. The players have all the power Chesh. Also, how much ****e have we signed from the lower league under the heading of "one for the future" and never get a single goal out of them. Who knows, Evans may have a better knack for picking them out

 

Chesh, that's what the manager is for, to man manage, not every player at Barca, Real or any of the big clubs are on the same money. Rooney at the scum is on much more thank say, Phil Jones

Tricky one as he is an average striker with 15ish goals a season in him and we are being linked with similar. Difference is Mirco is up to speed and match fitness, we know what we are going to get.

 

But not the signing on fee or the cut of his transfer his agent was agitating for.....
