To be fair England could have continued to bat for the rest of the day and easily got 750+ however, they took the attacking option. For so many years under previous captains we would of batted on and on and on, but under the current leadership they wanted to get out and bowl as soon as they can as all they where focused on was winning every single match rather than making sure they didn't lose.
Take those catches when Amla's on 70 odd and AB is on 5 and it'd have been a very very different outlook
630 might be, but 130 in a session isn't, nor is 196, nor is scoring at 8 an over for three hours. but it has turned out to be a tame track.
To be fair, people only post when something is deemed to be of interest. Stokes smashing it around is far more noteworthy than South Africa batting at 2 an over without losing a wicket.
All Stokes boundaries are on a Sky video if anybody has one of their boxes, ten minutes of England cricket heaven!
I'd rather see all the boundaries hit by the Indian teenager but that would probably take half an hour to watch!
SA have gone on to score another 40 without further loss though. Even if we bowled them out with a lead of 100+ I can't see England declaring leaving enough time to bowl SA out again.
Young bloke in India breaks a 100+ year record by scoring 1,000 runs in one innings. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-01-...anawade-scores-world-record-1000-runs/7069718
England 629/6d South Africa 627/7d Yes SA have declared now! We could lose this if we bat badly in the second innings.
Seen it through to the close, will end up as a draw and will be heralded a bad pitch and a boring advert of test cricket, but if we'd held onto catches at key points in time we'd have pissed this test.
84/4 at lunch. If England lose they will be the first team to have lost after scoring more than 600 runs in the first innings.
124 for 6 now. England doing there best to chuck away a game they should have at least been able to make SA follow on. Dropped catches have proved costly. Root with AB de Villiers(when on 5) on day 2 and Amla (when on 76) on day 3. England really do need some catching practice and quick.
Bairstow and Moeen made it to tea, thanks to JB surviving a very close stumping call. SA will need four very quick wickets after tea to have a chance.
