Black Book has a nice bit of gratuitous nudity in it, that's the only thing I can remember about that film. Children of God is supposed to be decent need to watch that

Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy was on last night, annoyingly I fell asleep and missed the end. I've seen it before, but still can't remember exactly what happens, my memory's terrible. <doh>

Not quite a film, but has anyone watched Making a Murderer on Netflix?
    Astonishing TV
I watched 6 episodes in one marathon session yesterday ( didn't intend to, I just stuck the first one on and me and Mrs Tash got hooked)
Might watch the other 4 today
It's a documentary following someone wrongly locked up for 18 years in the States who gets out and is then charged with a separate murder
It certainly makes you realise that you really don't want to get on the wrong side of the judicial system in the States!!!

I saw a brilliant movie "Spotlight" last week, the story of the Boston Globe's expose of the massive child molestation scandal by the Boston Catholic diocese's priesthood from the 1970s till the early 2000s which was covered up by Cardinal Law and the Vatican. Gripping and horendous story. Also hear "The Revenant" with Lionel Di Caprio is amazing.

4th film on day 4 was "cash", (nothing to do with Jonny )
From 2010, had Chris hemsworth(Thor) and Sean bean in it,
There is also an Indian film with the same name from 2007
At first I thought it was gonna be crap but it got better, in the
End it it turned out to be better than watchable !!!!

Been in a Joy Division mood recently, so today I watched Control, a 2007 biopic on Ian Curtis.

It's pretty good and quite emotional, and definitely does justice to Ian's legacy in my opinion.

Watched it all with my missus yesterday. Went to bed at 2 without any tea. Absolutely amazing but absolutely horrifying.

Went o the cinema to see it when it came out. I fell asleep, luckily it was an Orange Wednesday so the Mrs watched it, said it was rubbish, don't normally take notice when she says that but I've never been inspired to watch it again!

No film with a cast the included John Hurt, Gary Oldman, Tom Hardy and Colin Firth was ever going to be rubbish.

Great story and equally good film. I still enjoy watching the BBC version with Alec Guinness as Smiley though.

Ridiculous Six was a 6/10? That'll be the highest rating that piece of **** ever receives.
Insidious and PA are typical horror sequels, pretty rubbish.
The Martian is superb, one of the best films of 2015. I do think the book is better.
The Hateful Eight (which I will admit was a poor stream copy) was pretty good up until the last third, but then it kinda fell apart. Still one of QT's best though.
Not watching The Revenant till it comes out on the 15th, have been looking forward to it as much as Star Wars, so I'm not going for a crappy internet version.
The Gift was quite a surprise, I wasn't expecting it to be any good but it was one of the better films of the genre in recent years.
Everest was fine. A bit like Avatar, the technical aspect of it is great, and it looks fantastic, but other than it isn't much IMO.

Ash vs Evil Dead is bloody ace.

Just for info - ''the internet'' has an awesome copy of The Revenant, it's a DVD screener that 20th Century Fox has sent out to trusted reviewers for their perusal. The film itself is pretty good (imo), even more when you read that it's based on fact ........ I think you'll enjoy it.

I know I'll enjoy it, that's why I've been looking forward to it as much as Star Wars. It's an incredible tale, the fact it is real is just unbelievable.

It is a film I want to see on the big screen.

The wife gave it an 8. We watched it expecting it to be **** but it wasn't as **** as we expected. I think the frame of mind you're in when you watch a film can affect how you view it. Usually the other way around, when you watch a film that's been hyped to **** and it doesn't live up to expectations. I must admit, there's something about Sandler's childish humour that tickles me. (Even though he's getting on and has been in some proper ****e)
Insidious and PA are typical horror sequels, pretty rubbish.
Yup. But I like it when my better half ****s herself so I can laugh at her.
The Martian is superb, one of the best films of 2015. I do think the book is better.
Agreed. It's right up my street and I had to pretend I wasn't tearful about six times. Bloody Hollywood. (You are talking to a guy who cried when SpaceX nailed that landing a couple of weeks ago)
The Hateful Eight (which I will admit was a poor stream copy) was pretty good up until the last third, but then it kinda fell apart. Still one of QT's best though.

I'd much prefer to watch films at the cinema but it's a 50 mile round trip and when you get there it's full of other humans. The Revenant plus trailers will push three hours and I want to drink, piss and smoke every half an hour. (That's three problems I have)
The Gift was quite a surprise, I wasn't expecting it to be any good but it was one of the better films of the genre in recent years.
    Absolutely.
Everest was fine. A bit like Avatar, the technical aspect of it is great, and it looks fantastic, but other than it isn't much IMO.
We recently watched the documentary of the story, and as a representation of a true story, it achieved what it needed to. Although I spent the entire film moaning that it's stupid to be so cold for no glory.

Ash vs Evil Dead is bloody ace.
As a fan of the original movies, I thought it was a perfect sequel. The first episode that Sam Raimi directed got me hooked and I've watched the whole season thrice. I might watch it again. The only other series that I've been eager to watch again so soon is Hannibal.

I forgot I've also watched Antman, which was as fun and polished as I've come to expect from Marvel, and Legend (The Krays one, not the Tom Cruise 80's one) which was ruined once I pointed out that Ronnie sounds like an angry Alan Partridge. I thought the score of the film was poorly juxstaposed with the scenes. The "shoot up" in the bar reminded me of that scene in Shaun of the Dead where they beat up a zombie to Queen's 'Don't Stop Me Now'.

The original 20th Century Fox screener is flawless Des, the only thing different to a cinema copy is the Fox watermark whichappears for 5 seconds every 30 minutes or so.

Edited to add - as good as the screener is, it can't possibly match the big screen!
