The pitch is looking beautiful in the East Stand Cam pics. ( not gonna type that mouthful of the new name, ever, despite it's worthiness. Sure there'll be a nickname soon)

Anyway- I'm presuming it's keeping better and playing much more sweetly now Sarries have sodded off? Yes?

Edit: I mean the pitch, not the stand.

I tell you what, after that debacle today I don't give a monkeys about the pitch.

Hearing a fair bit of reference to poor pitch from opposing managers lately. Is it true or just they are reading their old match reports from a few seasons ago and rolling out old excuses?

I've been wondering about that. Too much rain? Can't use the rugby as an excuse now.

Can it be that with the new stand less wind is getting at it to dry it out?

I think it's been cutting up a bit under the GT stand and perhaps not looking quite as green as previous years. Have heard some comments on radio 'Bambi on ice' but don't think it's that bad, just been a bit wet. Seen some others on MOTD which look similar. Anyway, not like the pitches of old days which Tony Coton referred to at HT yesterday!

It is looking very "bobbly" at the moment. I took the comments from the Spuds manager with pinch of salt, but during the City game the ball bounce was sometimes very unpredictable. Hopefully we get some dry weather over the next few weeks and a bit of rolling and cutting will improve things - but the grass is looking very sparse and I suspect will need serious attention when the season ends.

I took some photos but can't upload. It is very patchy - lots of bare muddy areas.
Apparently the Spanish maintenance company only seed the ground using special lights to encourage growth but it isn't working. Gino wants them to patch whole areas but that hasn't happened; he is now getting a specialist that has worked with Arsenal to advise.

To put it in some perspective, I wouldn't like to be on Carlisle's groundstaff.

That's consistent with the article but more to the point it appears they didn't do the right thing over the summer and took major shortcut and we're suffering for it...

There is a problem with the people who look after the pitch apparently. We have dropped whoever it was in favour of the academy pitch people (all technical terms of course! Lol). Anyway, they're doing a bad job whoever they are and so it's being reviewed... Allegedly!
