Where to sit in the Vic

At yesterday's game I sat at the back of the Lower Graham Taylor stand well towards the Rookery end. I thought the view was not very good being quite low down and difficult to see up the line when others stood up. I therefore watched the second half at the back of the Rookery with some old mates.

I much prefer my relatively new seats towards the middle in the GT stand. I suppose people get used to their favourite positions in the ground for many differing reasons.

 

I was right up the other end of the LGT by the family stand. View was ok. I do agree with you though - middle of that or the UGT are my favourite.

 

I was in similar seats for the Man Utd and had a poxy cameraman keep walking in field of view ..like you moved to the Rookery for second half ,right at the front ...had a surprisingly good view ( of Deeney's own goal ) .
On Saturday looking forward to making lots of noise at the Newcastle cup game ..this time high up the Rookery behind goal . As a non season ticket holder , now finding it difficult to get half decent seats ...Please Mr Pozzo , we need a bigger ground . Although currently not looking like the Cup game will be a full house .

 

SEJ stand must be the best unless your low down - great view and covered from the rain.

 

Best place in the ground is the Rookery with the 1881 GT side half way up suits nicely....

 

I like being in the Rookery, but usually finish up in the GT due to making sure Mme can see. Still yearn for the years spent in the middle of the Vicarage Road terrace though. Without the segregation the banter was of a much higher standard.

 

I remember the 'banter' often turned into fisticuffs in the late 60's, especially against Luton. The Luton yobs used to use sharpened coins as weapons.

That was the Arsenal and not just coins darts and teeth probes .that was an evening game as a testimonial for a keeper call dave Underwood it was a blood bath

 

Always the risk of the sun in your eyes at certain times of the year though...

 

Have generally sat in the Rookery over the years, but in the past 2-3 years hard to get a ticket other than on the side and low down. In the last 2 years have actually sat in LGT, UGT and SEJ. For the rest of this season am now in the Family Stand as the price was £250 for two of us for ten games! It does annoy me a bit sometimes being in the same stand as the away fans and generally shooting the other way second half, but can't really complain at that price. Once the corner seats are built, does anyone know if the away fans will be pushed into there and further across the Vic Rd stand? Would be great if we could get home fans behind the goal at the Vic Rd end. Sometimes think we give away fans too good a position. On a separate note, anyone know why all the away fans stand up for the whole game? All teams seem to do it.

 

i have been in the rookery for most of my games (66/67) the best i have had was in the front for the UGT .I was taking the wife's family over from the US to there 1st game so it had to be good. We beat derby 2 nil 2005/6 or 2006/7 Now the kids wear out the home kit each year.

Incorrect, my new seats are in the SEJ, I'm sure I typed that, being a pensioner I must be rapidly losing it.
