The good news is that City have a micky mouse cup semi final to play this mid week, and then again at the end of the month, they are basically playing 2 games a week for the whole month, today was their first out 7 games for January, all these games are bound to catch up with them.

    1-1 now. Alli.
Excellent control and exquisite finish from the 19 year old.

Looks like a very good prospect, I have to say.

It's the least Spurs deserve, as they've totally ran the show. Just hope Everton can step it up in the second half.

Two really good strikes in the first half. Everton need to get the ball to Lukaku quicker in the 2nd half, at the moment Spurs are pressing them high and they can't really get out of their half. But they have a few moments down the flanks. I think this one could go either way to be honest.

How does Kone get in the team ahead of Mirallas?

That's the 3rd cynical foul I've seen Lamela commit. How has he not been booked yet?

Kane was lucky not to get booked for that foul on Baines too.

Much better second half from Everton <ok> Besic not allowing Alli or Dier to control the midfield and Duelofeu injecting some directness into the game.

1-1 in the end, Spurs fortunate to come away with a point in the end.

    1-1 at FT.

A game of two halves and in the end, on the balance of play over the 90 minutes, I guess a draw is a fair result.

Although I'm impressed with the high pressing style of play that Pocchetino wants to incorporate, it is very difficult for players to keep up that level of energy over 90 minutes. You could see that the Spurs players were starting to get worn out as the second half progressed.

Hopefully it will cost them over the second half of the season. They almost lost the game today and they almost lost the game against Watford last week. They play some good football, but overall they have been quite lucky to come away from those games with 4 points.

I actually thought that Everton's attackers made some poor decisions in the final third. Gerard Delueblehblehbleh provided some width and trickery, but his decision-making was suspect. He took too long to cross the ball and at times, looked unsure on whether to shoot or pass. Barkley was another one who tried to drive at the Spurs' defence, but kept getting tackled or misplaced some basic passes. Lukaku cut a frustrated figure for most of the game, but even when he did have chances, he kept fluffing his lines.

Things like that are why Everton are 11th in the league. They play good stuff, but they're not getting results.
