We are actually the weakest link in the chain.
We should all go on a Team Building weekend.

I don't think they are a lost cause. This is not an Anelka situation.
When someone like Ron tells you to do things differently to succeed you listen, don't you?

Hopefully, although here is the risk his agent says "bollocks" to him, we'll get you 120k a week in London/Manchester.

Do you? Or do you just think of getting more cash at another club?

Mane refused to play to get a move to us, why wouldn't he do it again?

Wanyama has one of the biggest dick head agents in the sport today. But Wanyama see's him as a father figure. If his agent said do something he would.

I don't want anyone sold but the absolute first priority before anything else is that the player wants to play and will give 100%.

If Wanyama or anyone else is waltzing about at 95% effort every team in this league will expose it.

Yep. Wanayama I think will continue to play average, then turn up at a game or two. Then move on in the summer. Mane is the player I am most worried about.

Which means Wanyama has to go now - him playing average makes him worse than every other midfielder in the league

A wise man once said that hard work beats talent, when talent doesn`t work hard. I don`t expect Saints to ever win the league, or swan around in the Champions League - what I do expect is 11 players on the pitch giving 100%, working together in whatever the coaches system is - and if we`re not good enough, then so be it. Going back to his Celtic days, I`ve always thought of Wanyama asover-rated, and if Mane can`t be arsed, then he`s no good to us.

Is this thread for real? Is anyone actually contemplating this as a good idea?

Nobody has shown they can consistently perform at DM (well Romeu can pick up cards just as well as vic). Mane is our only real attacking threat, Long has been a menace but isn't a great finisher and is more straightforward.

Selling either mid season would be suicide, it will be hard enough if/when they leave in summer. Only if we were in villa's shoes would selling be a consideration.

I am beyond all three of those phases and am in to the "why the **** am I bothering with football phase". It is all so passé now and there are much more interesting things to do that don't disappoint in the way football does.

Whatever happens, this issue needs to resolved ASAP. This sort of **** can only damage morale within the squad. If it means we have to sell them 5 months early so be it. First and foremost, we need a united camp to get through this. If we do sell them the money would have to be reinvested in the squad this month though.

I'm of the era where there would be regular rumour's of bust ups on the training ground.
Discipline in the team shouldn't just be the responsibility of the manager.
The players should be self governing as well

I would love it, if the next time Wanyama or Mane were interviewed", the opening question was "That bruise on your cheek. How did that happen?"

The rest of the squad really should be letting both players know, that they will not accept being let down. If not verbally, then by giving them an unnecessary nudge, or ankle tap, in training. Nothing too serious, but enough to bring the message home.
If we could get the money we want, for them, and could get the players we have presumably earmarked as their first choice replacements, then I would be okay with them leaving.
No point in keeping players that improve us, when they play at 100%, if they only intend playing at 70/75%.

Can't let players go without good replacements lined up. I would rather have a player playing @ 75% than no player at all. And were going on the assumption that mane and wanyama are not trying. Confidence of the team is low remember.

their behaviour may be one of the reasons that morale is low?

No sale. But we must offload both in the summer which gives us a while to line up good upgrades.

Ronald needed to talk to Mane Thursday, about his attitude and Mane was then late for a meeting, knowing that he would be dropped as a result of being late.
I take that to mean that Mane wasn't trying to help the team win yesterday's game, by being deliberately disruptive.
I only watched the first half, listening to the second on the radio, but have since seen Vic's red card on MOTD. Both his bookings were beyond ridiculous, his concentration was shot to bits, turning into trouble throughout his time on the pitch, and conceding possession too frequently.
He appeared to be somewhat "distracted" and the only surprise for me was his sending off coming so late in the game.

A few probably do need a slap. But if we're going to grow our fan base we can't afford to be choosy. <whistle>

I Would just like to apologise to the manager, fans and everyone at the club for my red card yesterday. It was reckless and irresponsible and I should have used my experience to have not let it happen, especially when I was on a yellow card. I now just want to focus on getting back on the pitch and helping the team as much as I can.
