    FA Cup Third round
    Sunday 10 Jan, 12:00
    Kassam Stadium

Just 3 days before the six-pointer against Sunderland, the Swans travel to the Kassam Stadium to face Oxford in the Third Roundof the FA Cup.

Recognising the importance of the clash with the Wearsiders just 3 days later, the Swans are expected to play a number of fringe players to ensure that the "first team" are fresh for the match against Sunderland.

The overall head to head record against Oxford is won 10, drawn 6 and lost 10. So very much "all-square".

I'm going for a 3-1 victory for the Swans.

could come unstuck here as we will obviously rest players. Oxford are in decent form, I think a loss would actually be better than a draw for us!

The only people I care if they play are Eder and Tabanou , especially Eder ...must play if he's fit. However else plays is just making up the numbers .Grimes also, these are the games he should always play , Amat also. These 4 will be pencilled in for sure.Naughton will start.
    2 - 0 Swans.

This is the chance for us to use our squad properly, which is something that has been desperately missing since we got knocked out of the League Cup at an early stage.

It's also another chance for Curtis to build on our passing game and hopefully get that winning feeling before we play Sunderland, but we'll have to play well because Oxford will be chomping at the bit.

I'm completely disinterested for this one - for obvious reasons. Yes, a win gives us a morale boost but the players should only take one look at the Prem table to be motivated for Sunderland.

Well I am , regardless of whether its a cup or league game , right now their all important games imo , if not just to try different formations, players and a chance to see whether the elusive Tabanou can offer us something different .
    See you there PGF.

Well done you lot. <applause> I don't agree that all these games are important though. Only one game matters right now and that's Sunderland. Formations and personnel should be sorted outside of a match environment but I take your point.

I don't mean in attending I mean in the result, we will always have a tidy away travelling and a lot will want to go most of our newer fans will never have been there.

If we win great and I hope we do, but this match is nowhere near as important as the Sunderland games or the other league games we have coming up.

We have to take it seriously. If you mean seriously as in let's play our first choice team then no, obviously! But as has been stated, the longer we're in it the more confidence it gives everyone and more importantly, the more playing time the fringe players get. Everybody happy!

IMO the more games against different types of opposition ( and this game especially where it isn't a game where PL positions will be a factor) then the better , if not for the teams confidence but also for a Curtis and Dave Adams to develop further as assistant and manager , we don't know how long we're going to have them as the managerial figure heads of the Club .Progress is being made on the field and with a few more tweaks and a couple of fresh faces ,especially up front then I'm all for a decent run in the cup.

I'd like to see this as our team

    Nordfeldt
    Naughton, Amat, Bartley, Tabanou
    Britton, Grimes
    Barrow, Shelvey, montero
    Eder

(if Shelvey is still with us)

That should defineatly be strong enough IMO

Sounds good to me , although I'm still leery on Bartley even playing in this situation frankly but what the hell

We may even see McBurnie have a run out , he's played against players of League 2 standard before so it could be a chance to see if he can combine with couple of the 1st team regulars .Not saying for a moment that he's ready for the PL but it gives the manager to see if he can fit in .
