Carried us last year and is doing it now. Would you keep him, he is on huge money but saved us a few times now
A few signings to feed him and we may pull it off . Fletcher , Graham and Watmore are not the answer .

He will score goals regardless of which club he's at - providing he's given time on the pitch to do so.

    He's different class undoubtably.

Fletcher and Graham have **** loads of time to prove themselves and failed miserably, Watmore needs time to mature, he's far from the finished article so give him time.

We need A N Other to compliment Defoe and they need a decent sup[plier as well.

Suicide to sell him this month. However we do need to also buy another forward. A big unit who can hold the ball up.

If Sam strengthens the defence it could give him the option of going 4-4-2 with Defoe next to a big man

Got to think that Fletcher may be on his way this month when Danny Graham is getting on the pitch ahead of him.

We have to keep Defoe until the summer at least - selling him to Bournemouth would be absolutely bankers as they are one of the sides we need to start sliding backwards.

If he goes this window I'll be seriously questioning our recruitment policy.

He almost single handedly won the game yesterday.

Surely we can,t move Defoe on ?, not unless he,s keen to go, as said above if Graham is getting the nod before Fletch then he,s not doing it in training, time for him, Graham, Toivonen, Rodwell to go. Watmore is direct but not much more, needs to bring other people into game, not just kep his head down, Brown showed that even at his age he,still a good player but we defo need another CB, min 2AM and minimum 1Striker

Aye, but not this time. This time, were in 19th spot, playing off the back foot.

Listening to Sam after the game, there's no chance of him letting him go.

The Swansea game is massive now! Win that and were right back in the mix. The teams just above us will know we've done all this before.

Agree we 100% must keep Defoe until summer. I actually think Fletch is good enough. Graham may have been decent once but it's clear his confidence is ****ed - needs a fresh start.

Simply cannot afford to sell him in January, re-visit this in the summer if they want him then so SA can then look harder into transfers.

£6 m is a joke, and to a rival relegation team, no chance. Swansea's Batefemi ? gomes and Jonjo shelvy would be great for us though.

I’d have Shelvey in a heart beat, great player.

Fletcher is just coming back from an in jury mate, but neither him nor Graham are the answer. Both have had ample opportunity to score but failed massively, time to get rid and replace with better. Defoe needs a strike partner, someone to feed off.

Can't believe that we'd even consider selling him, yesterday he looked like the player that could potentially keep us up letting him leave would be insane, he might not fit into big Sam's long term plans but if we're going to stay up this year we have to get the best out of Defoe and I think Alerdyce realises that. Bit of luck we will get a replacement for and get rid of Fletcher and Graham.

The only reason I would sell Defoe is if Austin is coming in. Defoe just needs to be given the ball in or around the box and he will score. He could have easily got a hat trick yesterday. I disagree with getting another forward in the play with him, just get the midfield to get the ball to him on the ground.

What we need is a ball playing midfielder who can supply Defoe and for that matter Borini who also looks dangerous in and around the box when he has it to feet.

If we sell Defoe now without some mind blowing replacement it means we're getting ready for the championship.
