That was frustrating again! Another game we deserved more from lost late on.. Played very well I thought but just a lapse in concentration let them back in it..
Back home after a very good day, apart from the football. Gave the phone a bit of a bashing although it wasn't really it's fault that the signal kept giving out. It is difficult to say what you would like to when you have three young granddaughters around. ..
Glad that run of fixtures is over. More than held our own over the four games and now it's back to business (after the FA Cup that is).
Back home after a rainy drive up the A1. Thought the work rate was again superb. Starting to get a bit annoyed with these games where a point is the fair result (Man U, Spurs, Citeh) only to come away without anything. Wouldn't exactly call it a smash and grab today, but they just didn't deserve the win. Pozzotives were a greatly improved ref, Jurado improving by the game, and I thought a great contribution by Abdi. Just read that all our 7 defeats have been against the top 7, if we carry on like today, hopefully they'll be some good wins against the lower teams. Rest a few for the cup, and get ready to go again in the league and we'll get back to winning ways!
I wanted 4 points from the 4 games no one out played us and we could have won all 4 of them, So i happy
Of The point you are missing is by resting a few, some of the others will feel part of the team and when they are needed later in the season they will be ready. like Holebas
Too gutted to post last night. Agree that we should include squad players in the cup -those players may be needed later in the leagueand it is better if they have had a competitive run out. I would like a good cup run but this year the focus is on the league. We have to make sure we are properly up for two very tough games away at Southampton and Swansea - two defeats in those games with Spurs, Chelsea and Palace following and we will be getting worried.
Discussion point: Both goals were as a result of defensive failures and should have been prevented.....
Exactly what I thought - Aguero had a free header - terrible defending. My hope is that we do not get complacent - "we have only lost to top 7 teams". We need to keep that record up and I have confidence that Flores will do what he needs to do.
That defeat was hard to take but we lost to one of the best forward lines in the world. We made them look fairly ordinary for 80 minutes. Auguero is such a class player, he also made a huge difference in the 4-2 cup defeat a couple of years ago. We obviously lack a bit of quality to match the very best sides. I wonder who we can find in the January sales?

Hi jjdel123 ...... Apparently Hart would have got it but the slight touch edged it past him..... I was actually worried after we went 1-0 as i thought it would spur them on... .as Lineker said on MOTD why didn't they play like that from the beginning...... well we know why as we are now worthy of respect..... but still a little suspect when on the back foot.
