This is a fans peaceful protest against Bernie Ecclestone and Flavio Briatore's poor running of Queens Park Rangers football club. The plan is to meet outside the ground on South Africa road at 1pm (two hours before kickoff of our first home game against Bolton) and protest peacefully against Flavio and Bernie for half an hour.
As fans we are disappointed at
    - the failure to give the fans a parade for winning for football league
    - Raising ticket prices by such an unreasonable amount
    - The failure to release a new kit / find a new sponsor
    - the failure of the board to support Neil Warnock ins the transfer market
    - the failure to reinvest the money from Taarabts potential sale into transfer funds

THIS IS NOT a protest against the players or Neil Warnock. We intend to be cheering the R's loudly when inside the stadium.

Norwich city fan here, coming in peace. Whats going on then? thought you had loads of cash and I was personally convinced you'd be whipping up tons of high profile signings... we've at least signed a few low profile (2mill) players. but have seen little from you guys. whats the deal?

Cameron Law Our owners are refusing to spend any money seemingly. It looks like they are trying to sell the club and make as much profit out of the fans before they do. They've raised the ticket prices by an extortionate ammount, Have failed to financi...

Jamie Dorito-prang Saunders mad! taraabt is surely worth 5/6/7 mill? i did hear the tickets were going to be as much as 70 quid to try and make it into a 'boutique' club???! they need to have a word. surely the board must realise you need to spend to survive? you had a fairly decent squad last year but we've even spent around 10 million inc signing on fees on relative 'small players'. hope you dont get ruined by the suits.

Cameron Law Might be to late by then, we'll have plenty of Camera's around. I imagine BBC football focus / match of the day might be around to do a bit of filming outside the ground for our first premiership game in 15 years.

i disagree with the poor running of the club as much as most supporters, but how will this help our cause? :S

Cameron Law It's better than doing nothing and let the crooks running our club continue to try and ruin it. And who knows, maybe the Mittals will see how dissatisfied we are with Bernie and Flavio that they might try and take over again :)

Get rid , F1 or football , the club however has not been the same since the days of thomson , anyone remember when he sold Sir Les , he gave nothing back to the club. What ever happened to the F.A own fit & proper rule... I live in Worthing but have been a hoop for over 50 years , they haver priced me out of watching MY Club, By the time i paid my fare or driven with tickets the way they are not much change from £100 , not got that every other week , Get football back to 3 on Saturday, Rant over c'mon u R'S

This needs to be aired through the press, the story may gather strength in the next three weeks if there are no significant signings or takeover action and it would be an embarrassing start to life in the PL for the Goons to have this going on at their first match.

Think this is a good start -I'll turn up. It's not clear to me who is organising this - is it QPR 1st? If not, how much publicity is it getting within QPR discussion forums. Anyone know?

I'll see you there then (assuming I can get a ticket for the match). Being a QPR protest, the word organise is probably optimistic.

Three of us if things don't improve dramatically beforehand.

Personally don't take this official statement or a couple of free agents as any sign of that happening.

Trouble is, reading the reasons for the protest, some of the issues may well be resolved by then. For instance, it looks like Adel is staying and we may/should have a new kit and kit sponsor by then too.
However, I'd be happy to protest just about the amount I've had to pay out for season tickets!!

Any protest must be about the way the club is being run and its apparent contempt for the fans. What it's not about is whether Taarabt stays or goes.

It must be about resuming and improving upon the stability we were starting to see last season, and about assurances on policy, approach and official communication re. what the club's current financial position is actually atm and what its plans are for the increases in income.

If we receive official assurances that the lack of investment in the team is about club solvency in the medium to long term, then that's a step in the right direction. If we don't, we are left to assume that those millions are going elsewhere and to the club's detriment, so game on.

The owners have a duty to keep us informed us as stakeholders.

Regardless of Taarabt staying, and undoubtedly we will have a kit sponsor by then, the club is being run very badly. We will need to see some significant movement in the transfer/loan market for me not to go, a genuine sign that we are not just in the Premier League to make up the numbers. I also hate being lied to through the propaganda website. The only other proviso is that it is dependent on me being able to get a ticket.

Hopefully we'll be taken over by the 13th so no need to protest. Also what if we release a kit next week with a really good sponsor and sign 2-3 players for substantial fees between now and then. Personnaly I dont think a protest is the way to go........yet!!

It would be worth having something organised rather than wait till the 13th and find ourselves in the same sorry situation. If things improve as Sam states then the protest can be delayed.

Sam and Sooperhoop - think you're right about not acting precipitously - the Goons are doing just enough at the moment to keep fans eyes on the pitch and not on them - and they've shut NW up so he can't complain about how he and the team are treated behind the scenes (there's always Andrew Morton, NW) - I will certainly join in a protest - it's just getting the timing right - they'll be plenty of others be feeling the same way

...and then to cap it all, I've got to wait until Thursday to see if CernBerny finally comes good...

Wouldn't hold your breath on cerny's famous predictions Goldhawk.
Anyway, with regards to the protest, I was merely going by the reasons for the protest that were stated in the original article. I'm not against a protest, especially regarding season ticket prices, as I stated.
A word of caution though. Bernie and Flav could make things really dodgy for our club if they wanted and really pissing them off might not be the wisest thing to do!!

Let's just monitor the situation and keep an eye on the one on facebook.

We can then have a roll call during the week before the match and see how many of us are able to go.

I think what Sooper's saying there Roller is that if Warnock goes there's likely to be a reactive ground swell leading to a call for a visible protest regardless of what's being planned.

Col: re. your comment, 'Bernie and Flav could make things really dodgy for our club if they wanted and really pissing them off might not be the wisest thing to do!!'

How much more 'really dodgy' can they make things?

I appreciate that, old boy, but I don't think that you can plan for that situation, hence monitoring it. Perhaps I should have said monitor and react as appropriate. It could happen at any time, however August 13th can be planned, as we are pretty sure when that is going to be.

I'm sure there are many things they could do. They may not be piling in loads of investment, but as far as I know, they haven't actually stripped any assets as yet. There must be plenty of scope.
