It's great to get on these things, but with half the city centre dug up for the city centre works and several attractions shut for redevelopment, it might have been better if they just plugged us for 2017.

It sounds like a good marketing (or is it PR?) move by Rough Guides to get free coverage in the newspapers.

Not to mention being an article that praises Ljubjana for it "boasts a wealth of green spaces – 542 square metres, in fact".

That's about the size of a small garden.

It's actually 542m2 of green space per resident.

It's such oversights in professional writing that make being on such a list less meritorious.

It is a rather glaring error.

Went into the city centre just before Christmas and thought the Luftwaffe had been back in town.

Historical figures suggest that in total the Battle for Wroclaw cost the lives of 170,000 civilians, 6,000 German troops, and 7,000 Russian troops. 70% of the city lay in total ruin (about 75% of that directly attributed to Nazi efforts to fortify the city), 10km of sewers had been dynamited and nearly 70% of electricity cut off. Of the 30,000 registered buildings in the city, 21,600 sustained damage, with an estimated 18 million cubic metres of smashed rubble covering the city

    Hull should be higher

I dropped my daughter off this week and drove past Holy Trinity and it does indeed look like a bomb's gone off.

It's unavoidable, but anyone coming before 2017 is unlikely to be impressed.

Although thinking about it, never let the facts get in the way of a story, lets tell Sky the McDonalds was actually just inside Hessle

I've been to three of those cities, all more than once: Nashville, Mexico City, and Vancouver. I don't know what kind of convoluted criteria would produce these results, but what the hell, any large city has something to offer. I would recommend Vancouver to anybody, anywhere. But there are several cities in Mexico I'd visit before Mexico City, and to enjoy one's visit there would require ignoring overwhelming evidence the place is a ****hole. If you want to go to Mexico and experience Mexico (as opposed to being a tourist), visit Guadalajara. Nashville is a nice town. I like Nashville. But I don't think it is even the most interesting "alternate" city to visit in Tennessee, let alone the United States. Memphis and Chattanooga are far more interesting cities, IMO. Oh well, I do hope to visit Hull some day, which will include a visit to the KC Stadium to watch the Tigers win.

According to Manor's frankly demented Twitter page, contractors are due to start this month:
