I had no idea Tal Wilkenfeld would be in this Herbie Hancock video or had even jammed with him. Well there you go, just proves she is currently one of the worlds best bass players right now if Jeff and Herbie get you in their line up

I need to go see some Proms performances in London this year.

I can remember and love these as good old Holst made it easy for simple people like myself by giving planet names

 

I was brought up on classical music as my mum had a big collection of classical records. It has much in common with rock music, power, drama and more than it's fair share of Prima Donnas...

This is one of my earliest musical memories...

 

And this was perhaps the first 'crossover' of rock and classical, as Keith Emerson and Nice jazzed up 'The Karelia Suite' by Sibelius which led to other such reworkings like 'Pictures at an Exhibition' by Mussorgsky...
