Table is looking pretty good <cool>

Shame Oxford won. They were losing 2-1 with 11 mins to go but won 4-2. If they had lost today, we could of had the chance to go into the top 3 next weekend! But it wasnt to be.

Imagine if the table finished like this. Wycome in the play offs! <yikes> With the history between the 2 sides in recent years, it would be just typical that this would happen!

We're now promotion contenders - that's all we can say at this stage of the season. But that's brilliant - it's very nice to be looking at the top bit of the table for the 2nd season in a row, after so many relegation battles in recent years.

DC has got us playing well - everyone knows their jobs - and he's instilled a winning attitude throughout the club. I can't remember a Rovers manager who changed the team so much, but to such good effect!

When DC took over from Ward, as soon as I heard DC's 1st interview as the new manager, I just knew he was the guy for us. I know it can go tits up like what has happened in BS3 with SC but thats football and we need to be prepared if that happens to us. But until then, long may DC's reign continue <ok>

Like Bluebaldee says, DC has done remarkably well and deserves credit for turning the club around. The team spirit was clearly evident today with everyone working for each other, everybody obviously knows their role and the fitness level throughout the squad seems better than it did in previous seasons. I thought the team were outstanding today - Luton proved a tough team to break down but the lads kept chipping away and were justly rewarded for a game in which they totally dominated. This patience and perseverance is credit to DCs leadership and methods. One other thing I've noticed is how quickly we seem to build attacks from the back. No sooner had Mildenhall gathered the ball, he quickly distributed it and the ball was worked up the pitch much swifter and more effectively than I had noticed before. Add in the little touches of flair that were evident today involving back-heels,knock-ons etc and you had the ingredients for a highly entertaining performance topped off with a superb result.Incidentally I thought Leadbetter was excellent today with his pace and runs at their defence - he seemed to cause them problems every time, although its a shame he didnt have more opportunities to test their defenders out. Bring on Barnet, I think there's 3 points waiting for us there!

I am convinced that if DC had taken over at the beginning of the month instead of the end of it when the window had closed, he would have brought in some players with the work ethic that he has now installed and we would not have been relegated. Even the games I saw last season before I was asked to stay away in which we didn't play particularly well we still showed some fight which was lacking the previous season. Whether we make the top 3 or the playoffs or just achieve a good position this season in the league we would I believe fulfilled the hopes of most Gasheads for the current season. With the support the team got today they can only improve.

You may be right that we may not have got relegated if DC took over sooner. But if we had stayed up, we may have been stuck with the likes of O'Toole and other players who wanted the easy life not giving a crap about our club. Because of our relegation, players like O'Toole wanted to go as didnt want to be in non league. I think pirate49 said during the summer following our relegation (apologise p49 if im wrong and it wasnt you) that getting relegated to non league could be a blessing in disguise. I think it certainly was!

We beat Luton with such authority... we should be confident no matter who the opponents are, but not to the extent where we're getting carried away. Things are, however, looking very promising indeed!

Whenever we try to play football keeping the ball on the floor we look a very good side, its only when we knock it high and long that we seem to struggle

After enduring such crap up til 2015, you can hardly blame people for getting a little excited when we're playing so well. The good thing is that DC will not let it go to the players' heads and treats it as one game at a time.
We will go through a bad patch or two this year, but DC always seems to turn situations around, so as long as we keep his services and Higgs backs him in the window I can see us remaining promotion contenders.

I like what DC said at the end of his interview, 63 points to play for but he is just concentrating on the first 3 of them.
