Have you ever tried Knob Creek Bourbon? 50% and there's a 60% single barrel version. They're not fiery in the slightest and I drink them straight with a couple of ice cubes. So easy to drink, but then suddenly you attempt to stand up and realise you have no legs.
I've had a glass at someone's house once (I assume it was the 50%) but only the one so didn't realise it was that strong. Nice too I've had a fair bit of spiced rum on ice this Christmas, don't normally do that but someone brought a bottle round and it was very enjoyable. (Cue Sir Ben getting back on here regarding the gay lords guzzling knob creek ! )
Yeah I did anticipate Sir Bens reply, but he seems to have fell asleep at his lap top after consuming too many Babyshams.
Anyway...I've had another look at the Weller feat Tom Jones thing and the one thing I did notice is that Tom seems to want to do that thing where you sing and look at each other with a smile and that. Weller never once acknowledges and Jones looks bemused and a little bit lost. I felt a little bit sorry for Tom tbh. Here it is...
I was there that night, accoustic ska night, it was a great night. Personally I like a bit of hootenanny, been some great performances over the years, Amy Whinehouse, SeaSickSteve etc, thought last nights was good, Pauline Black, that bird in that blue dress, and even that young scruffy **** in the hat, no idea who he was but i thought he was ok.
The ska night was great. In my aging memory it was Pauline Black and a collection of Beat/Selector/Specials band members Whoever it was it was a great gig and her chats between songs were fascinating (actually I think she always comes over well in interviews etc) I did enjoy the Hootenay too. There's much worse stuff on TV !
tom's 75 kemps and he's still got one of the best voices around. I doubt he gives a **** about weller
I did indeed. It's recorded ten days before New Year and as it's presented as a live show, clips are not realised in advance and they aim to include as many surprises as possible.
He's called James bay, apparently he's the new ed sheeran according to the young uns Yet Another scruffy mo fo My daughter is going to see him in landaaan soon, she said he's brilliant...
A lot of Jool Holland's show's and not just hootenanny, have a wide selection of artists and their music, new stuff, well to me anyway, and oldies from way back. Jolls often plays along and it is generally a good music programme, not so keen on his interviewing though. And I'm still kicking myself at not going to see the guy in concert when he was at Hull City Hall a couple of years back.
Its when he sings its worse. Must be a source of constant frustration that he's got a bloody awful voice.
I went to see him at City Hall. Feel free to kick yourself more...it was superb! He's playing in Scarborough this year though (with Pauline Black too)
Damn! Typical, I didn't think he would be the wife's cup of tea as she doesn't really watch him on TV so I didn't bother to get tickets, sounds like you enjoyed it anyway Dennis.
I was hoping for some compliments for having the apostrophe in the right place for this thread title. Where is Castro anyway. Not heard from him in a while. Hope all is well mate.
