Mane having a sulk and not going to a team meeting is Koeman's fault I guess?

A team being light weight upfront because Koeman isn't backed enough is Koeman's fault I guess?

Koeman not subbing off Wanyama earlier is his fault.

Long not being able to score is Long's fault.

We simply haven't got a big enough squad. It doesn't help when we have one player getting sent off for being a idiot and another sulking.

I should never read this forum when we lose! Unfortunately I was traveling when we beat Arsenal when I guess Mane, Wanyama, Fonte, Davis, Long, Tadic and Ron were brilliant!

Poor Long. Everything is Ron's fault, apart from Long's finishing.

Tbf Mane wasn't all that against Arsenal as well. But then I would rather have a ok Mane then a sulking one.

Indeed they were. We were a great team on that night. Their form though like Saints' form is judged over more than 1 game. The 5 game form guide for us says LLWLL which is pretty similar to the players in question form I would guess although we weren't too bad at West Ham or today we are now 3rd from bottom in the form guide :(

Agreed. It's also worth remembering that every player we've sold so far was sold on Cortese's vision of Southampton, as was Wanyama. Remember the famous DVD? Cortese presented the fans, players and coaching staff with a clear, easy to understand message. I'm not sure the current board have managed to do the same thing for the players and coaches and I know that I'm not really sure what their plan is.

Bingo. And that, IMO, is what we're missing: the irrational belief that we're going somewhere. That necessarily has to start at the very top, or it will always be a downturn in results or change in personnel away from disappearing.

That, to me, was the subtext to Fonte firing a shot across the bow of the board in December. The players aren't automatons; they're interested in the furtherance of their careers, here or elsewhere, and Fonte's their representative. Prove that the scoreline matters more than the bottom line, that last year wasn't just a happy accident. Otherwise, the Newcastle comparison that Godders made will start to seem much more accurate.

We are light up front because Koeman overly relies on pelle. How has he not been backed!? - he spent 12million on Long. He spent another ~5 million on Juanmi. He persists in a defensive 4-5-1 when an counter-attacking 4-4-2 worked against Arsenal.
Long was signed with Koeman as manager! If he has final say on transfers it has to go down as a Koeman mistake.
His job is to MANAGE the players - which includes players sulking and poor discipline.

All I'm saying is that there were a lot of people happy with our transfer business in the summer, with the amount we spent and the amount we received on transfers. To blame our recent poor form on summer dealings is ridiculous. I'm not saying he should be sacked - I'm saying he should be getting more from these players.

This is quite clearly a light-weight team of poor quality trying to justify their wages, added to which another bunch of overpaid ungrateful players holding the club to ransom is all we need. It's obvious both Wanyama and Mane want out - put them in the under 21s until the window closes and give Read and Seager starts. This is history repeating and surely Les and Ralph need to act to help Ron or he will loose the dressing room - if he hasn't already. Interesting week ahead I think when the window opens.

Oh nothing is Ron's fault! Stop blaming him! He's not in charge of training, tactics, motivating the team and who plays what position! It's not like he has a say in who his transfer targets are! This blind devotion to a high profile manager is funny! Like your first very pretty girlfriend that you love but turns out to be a wrong'un. Yes of course he has some blame it would be ludicrous not to say so! The point is can he turn it around and on present form and recent games the jury is most definately out on that one! (For me anyway, some of his more vocal devotees might disagree)

No one is saying Koeman isn't at fault. What I am saying is he isn't 100% to blame.

So why wasn't Juanmi on the bench? Injured? ill? Leaving?

I don't really care why he left, and I'm not judging him. I'm just saying if he were in this situation right now he would probably leave again.

Yes, it's a question which I would also like the answer to. But understandably, it's got a little bit lost amongst everything else today.

To be honest I'm not concerned, would rather see Seager there anyway. (Youth policy bias shining through)

    I wouldn't say I'm concerned. More interested.

If the answer is that Ron simply dropped him, then you may well get your wish on a regular basis from now on to see Seager there.

JWP hasn't been very good. Pelle also hasn't been very good. Also, Tadic. And Bertrand. And yes, Wanyama has been bad as well. The whole team has by and large sucked. That's how you end up losing so many games.

I think it is odd you insinuating that I am excluding players from criticism when my whole point is everyone has been bad. Wanyama isn't the sole reason why we are losing, and to my mind he isn't getting any sort of special treatment from Koeman.

He!s just another player playing somewhat poorly on a squad that is full of them.
