Do you not remember how critical people were about God being **** outside the box? I was there. ..... I thought.... **** me as long as he keeps scoring..... Most of his haul came from inside the box and he'd such a lovely strike of the ball. So clean, no back lift but ask him to pick a pass... no chance. As for Michael Owen. ... he was all about pace, I followed that lad from the age of 13 til his debut. Control of the ball was not his strong suit. He was not a technical player. So there you go. All great goal scorers and as I've said benteke knows where the newbie and has produced some great finishes for us... and two absolute howlers and all. The boy can score that's all I need to know cos believe me I've seen plenty who miss the target goo much.
But they were all better goal scorers than Benteke and still offered more to the team off it. Might not have been Suarez in creating chances but Owens pace allowed us to play a certain way and get the best out of the team... At the moment Benteke strengths don't match the rest of the team. You ou can't compare Owen fowler (not old enough for rush) to Benteke. Just no where near the same class. Fowler may have just been a finisher and yes if Benteke was as good as fowler then maybe you could get away with it. But fowler needed 1 chance to score, Benteke needs 3 or 4 and that's the difference. If the team created 4 chances for fowler, he's score a hatrick. If a team create 4 for Benteke he'll score 1 and that's when it becomes a problem because if you only create 1 and he misses then he becomes useless for the game if not doing anything else. There was a bit Phillips was doing on sky about how the typical poacher has somewhat gone out of fashion but there is still a place for them and I don't diagree. But you need to be playing two up for them to succeed, most teams play 1 up top and as such you need that player to do more than just stick the ball in the net, you need them to link play and create. Look at Hernandez, poacher in the box, shunted out of United as doesn't fit one up top, goes to Germany and is banging them in.
Just saying the truth about our lot. Benteke knows where the net is. Nobody has contradicted me saying hesky was actually vital in 2001 either. The amount of spoiled rotten disrespect for benteke is laughable as is talk of style etc. We need players like him to build a squad but the amount of abuse I do find silly given 5 years ago we were 18th and had **** all. If we'd had a decent option last year not a guy who could not run (who Rodgers then refused to even sub on due to style issues) a guy who was a diva who feigned sickness and of course a guy Rodgers didn't want at the club in borini. .... well you get me. So spoiled. If we'd an option in past years like this we'd have won more. If rafa had this boy he'd sure use him and not waffle about style. As for Germany. ..... dear oh dear... Firmino really has adapted instantly over here just like hernandez. .. and raul could struggle in Spain and retire there easy peasy. The little pea never was the same after that head injury... sure Utd could use him now but they were spoiled rotten and didn't appreciate him did they. Moyes wanted a big man and van Gaal has carried it on.
Jürgen Klopp's message to fans for 2016 David Lynch @LynchMDavid Jürgen Klopp has provided a special New Year message to Liverpool fans, promising that he and his players will do all they can to make 2016 a happy year for all Reds. The manager told Liverpoolfc.com: "First of all, I wish all the fans a Happy New Year! "[2015] was an intensive year for all LFC fans. The only thing I can really promise is that we will do everything to make sure that, when we are at the same day in 2016 and we look back, it’s easier for all of us to have a smile on our face." Klopp also reflected on his main targets for this year, one of which is to build on some promising early performances under his tenure by scoring more goals. The Reds have flattered to deceive in front of goal on occasion in 2015, and the boss is out to make sure a smattering of recent goalfests become a more regular occurrence. "We want this. I know, usually, you want to see football because of the goals," the German explained. "But it’s not about talking about this, it’s about working, and that’s what we are doing. "We have the situations but we have to use them more often, that’s the truth. We had our games with a lot of goals, they weren’t often enough in the Premier League, but we had a few situations: the Southampton game, Manchester City, Chelsea. "I see it, we are seventh place with a nil [goal difference], the same number of goals scored and conceded and that’s not perfect. "But it’s not the way to talk about it only, we have to work on it and that’s what we try." http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/201845-jrgen-klopp-s-message-to-fans-for-2016
I look forward to it herr klopp. I'm hoping he can start by not getting mullered by stoke over two legs. I think we must see our current level and work on it. Stoke have a poor cm situation but the rest of their team is every bit as good as ours We have a lot of transformation to do so if herr klopp can get results above our station as we do that I'd hope to be looking at us having a great 2017

#consistency is always the key mate Joking aside you've looked ****ing ****e of late. Even when you've scrapped a result you've still been largely gash. He's keeping his tactical genius well hidden at the minute imo
Klopp's bossing the games per day statistics. Out of curiouisty, do you know what Rodgers' overall win rate was?
Just for comparison, Klopps win rates were: After 7 games: 43% (same as Rodgers) After 8 games: 50% (same as Benitez) After 14 games: 50% (better than Hodgson) After 18 games: 50% (better than Dalglish)
