As we have two players that can and do run the length of the pitch, why not go 3-5-2 with Martin and Brady as wing backs? We would probably not lose the midfield, and I have little confidence with a lone striker. That would also get Wes in a more central position, where he needs to be.
It would certainly be an interesting experiment, but I think it relies too much on Brady for width. Your central midfield would have to include Tettey, and if you want Wes then your final midfielder couldn't be Redmond in the interest of balance. The second issue is strike partnerships. Jerome and Mbokani? Or is it little and large with Grabban or Hooper alongside a big guy?
Well, let's hope for a turnaround in the second half, like there was with Everton. O'Neil worries me the way he's losing the ball, though.
With the team on the pitch today, I would be put Tettey at the back. The Redmond thing is tricky and I guess he would have to be a little more central too. Would have to be CJ and Dave up front.
