Yes, as Romsey says, Sky reported during last night's game that he was injured.

But given that the January window is now upon us, my own view is that there is every chance that he is "injured" as opposed to being injured.

 

What is reasonable for Victor though may well not be reasonable for us.

If we were looking to sell him for a minimum of, say, £15m in the summer then presumably we would want a release clause in excess of that. Why force yourself to accept your minimum? We'd surely be looking for, say, a £20m or £25m release clause. But that potentially puts Victor's nose out of place (and that of his agent), for being too high, and he doesn't sign.

The most important thing is that we don't find ourselves held to ransom by Victor and his agent, like Villa were with Delph. A new four year contract signed, but with small print of a pathetic £8m release clause. If Victor doesn't want to sign something which has a clause which is reasonable for us (or, ideally, no clause at all!), then we sell up.

 

Bournemouth have signed Juan Iturbe on loan for the rest of the season. Could be very decent for them.

 

Here's some players that can be signed on a pre-contract this January for a free in the summer. Other than Vilhena, who we know about, there's some interesting ones there. Carrillo could be an interesting alternative if/when we lose Mane for example -

I honestly don't know. But I wasn't attempting to link us to Austin. Aside from being an option off the bench when we need a goal, I'm struggling to see how he'd fit into our system. That isn't to say that I wouldn't be pleased to see us sign him, because I would be, but I'm not sitting here hoping that we'll make a bid.

 

The wages were the issue - not just for us but other EPL teams also - was touted that he was after 85K per week.

Depends if he can be arsed. He is a very hot and cold player. If Watford get Keita, now that would be a class buy.

Agreed - but to come on loan is a good opportunity to get picked up by a bigger team than Bomo at the end of the season - not disrespect meant to Bomo.

 

Demarai Gray joining Leicester for £4m apparently. Shame we didn't bid really, £4m is very cheap.

 

I wonder if that might signal the end of Dyer's loan spell with them? If so, then it's quite possible that the post-Monk Swansea might want to use Dyer again. But if not, then I would happily see Nathan return home.
