I'm not saying it was the only good tackle, but it was one that broke up play and led to a goal, so a stand out moment
I thought qpr were **** - never looked like winning - they should have stuck with warnock - anyway that's their problem - onwards and upwards xx
He was the worst player on the pitch against Preston, was a bit better against Burnley and useless at Rotherham and Leeds. Yesterday he was marginally better, but you can't honestly believe he's been more effective in recent weeks than say Hernandez, or Maguire, or Robertson or Jake? Going on overall performances, not individual moments like the odd tackle. It's nothing to do with his ability as a footballer, because I've seen him at his best and he's great. But he's been nowhere near that and people seem happy with his contribution. He's woefully out of form by his standards and if you disagree and think that this is the best we will see of him, then why are we fighting so hard to keep him?
So he got the assist for the assist? If only that was a real thing. Face it, he's in dire need of a rest.
He did okay yesterday, not unlike a number of others. That said his game is about box to box running and I suspect Brucey will indeed rest him for the cup next weekend.
the earlier poster was right dave could have done a lot more to prevent the cross.he had at least a yard and a narf
Played well against burnley. We won. Played poorly against Preston. We lost Played well against qpr. We won. Get over it. You made an assessment of meyler a long time ago. You were wrong then. You try to do him down at every opportunity since then. He gives it everything. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. He's obviously played through a painful return from injury. What was it six weeks for a medialtear. Yet the kid gets non stop ****e from you and others.
his work rate is such that he was making covering tackles behind our defence as well.very good player in my opinion, who will improve.
Er, no. I didn't. I said he wasn't good enough for the Premier League and that the Chanpionship was his level. I wasn't wrong, he's proved me right by being more effective this season. It doesn't seem to take him doing much for him to play 'well'. He didn't 'play well' yesterday he was just average. He was so poor against Preston that he was hauled off at half time for running along our goal line with the ball. He wasn't that great against Burnley but it was a vast improvement on his previous two appearances. You always seem to think I don't like him, yet I've praised him when he's done well, he gets no more criticism from me than any other player does if they play badly. Either you're his agent or you don't recognise when a player is playing badly. Except you do because you were on here giving it large about Huddlestone. Rightly so, Thudd needed dropping. But as soon as Meyler gets criticised, people are up in arms because he's this hard working bloke who tries his best. Laughable, really, that as an aspiring Premier League footballer the one quality of his people focus on is how hard he tries. Like the fat kid on sports day. "Well he came last but he tried really hard and his work rate was brilliant." The kid isn't a bad footballer and he has a purpose, I'm not picking on him, I'm just disappointed that we've not seen the best out of him for ages and its strikingly obvious he needed a rest after Burnley. He's been blowing out his arse for weeks and that's not worthy of a pat on the back, being tired isn't noteworthy, it's detrimental to the side. Everybody moaned at Huddlestone for being ineffective and yet Meyler has been just as bad and everybody's sucking his dick saying he's rampaging about the pitch winning tackles and breaking up play. I honestly don't think it's his fault, Brucey should've rested him and didn't. If he plays against Brighton I'll be ****ing annoyed because we have 3 home games coming up and we want him at his best.
Meylers been overused by Bruce after his injury, probably because for some reason he had it in for Hayden and has signed Taylor only never to use him either. I feel sorry for him as when he's fresh he is top class for the division, I didn't think he was too bad yesterday either but he was hung out to dry by Bruce for the Preston game
Sterling in 'not accepting someone he doesn't like playing well' shocker. Give it a rest at least once for crying out loud.
One thing Clucas did do very well yesterday was his crossing and corner taking. He took loads of corners from our left side and every single one was put into the danger area. It's unusual for any City player to make so many crosses without most of them being blocked by the first man or an easy take for the keeper. It's not his fault no one gets on the end of them. When Anne came here, he said he was very good with his head. I hope that's true because Clucas could end up with loads of assists.
I hope Bruce gets a tall lad in on loan, could reap dividends like you say. Even that useless guy with the topknot that QPR had upfront would benefit from Clucas and Robbos balls in, shame Elmo seems not with it anymore
The cross for their goal should have been prevented, Dave had plenty of to time to get to him and just close him down, really poor. He also gave the ball away about six times during the game, move up to half way with the ball then loses it or passes it forward, normally to one of theirs. He has a long way to go to be a real quality defender. Too interested in getting forward but can't defend correctly.
