Alexis will be too short for Newcastle. He [could] be back for Sunderland. on Arteta… Arteta is back in training but is too short [of match fitness] to be selected in a competitive game. on post-Bournemouth updates… We have no new injuries from Bournemouth, only fatigue. Everybody is alright. on Rosicky… He is three weeks away [from training] now. on rotation… Certainly we will rotate again. Everybody else in the squad against Bournemouth should be available. on if Jack Wilshere will make Euro 2016… I maintain what I said that he could make it back for February. He will be available again. Considering you play the Euros on June 10, that is a long way. please log in to view this image
Love the optimism but if it goes tits up this is bound to be used by a certain someone as an example of gooner delusion! Pleased for Cech getting his record...nice bit of individual glory...always comes across well as a person imo .... shame he played for you and that lot
Play like we did today (with better finishing please) and keep it smart with no mistakes and we should bring the 3 points. Newcastle, despite their League position can give us a tough time so getting the goals in early and controlling the midfield will be key.
I'm permanently negative on here...as if I'd honestly think we'd win comfortably. My prediction was tongue in cheek!
I know that, you know that but there are others who will claim otherwise I'm a serial pessimist so I can spot another a mile off!
I've just seen Newcastle's record against us. Didn't realise that they had lost the last 8 matches! In our last 15 encounters, we've won 12, drawn 2 and lost 1. We appear to be a bit of a bogey side for them. Long may it continue! They're certainly not a side brimming with confidence at the moment, but they've got some dangerous players. Perez, Wijnauldum, Sissoko and Mitrovic are the obvious threats to our goal, but we should really have too much for them. Their defence is pretty terrible. That being said, they've drawn against Chelsea & Manchester United, comfortably beat Liverpool and got one over Spurs as well, so we can't afford to be complacent. Even when we beat them at St. James Park, it was by a solitary goal and they had 10 men for 80 minutes of the match. The flip side to this is that they got spanked 5-1 by Man City! Newcastle enjoy playing against the big name teams by the look of things, but they haven't had good results against us in more recent times. I can't see that trend changing.
I'd go with the same team that just beat Bournemouth. Maybe switch Giroud with Walcott and let Campbell come in, but that's it.
We're absolute dog **** at the moment, I fear a hiding for us. If all players give 100% we'd give you a good game, this never happens. Overpaid, spineless mercenaries who couldn't give a toss about the colour of their shirts. Good luck for the season. Always have a good bit craic with your fans at the Union Rooms when we play you at home. Love to see you win the league.
Yep 7-3 in a game where Walcott scored a wonder goal, sliding through 3 or 4 tackles in the box and then scoring from an impossible angle.
That's the one...think it was quite close until half time or so...weren't they 2-1 up or something at one point? Anyway here's hoping you come over all spursy when you play them...not that I am holding my breath
That result at the bridge was amazing, Walcott scored again that day too. Against Newcastle I think that 7th goal was his hat-trick too.
