It's a new year so why dont we have a new start and begin by being honest about whats going on here. This thread has never been about dark matter, 9/11, general relativity, AIDS being man made, global warming or any other subject this thread has chanced upon along the way; no , this thread has always been about Sisu and his rather severe inferiority complex. The topic of discussion is almost irrelevant, as is the outcome of any discussion eg everybody could end up agreeing that Sisu is right, but that would be a small step towards the overall goal (see many previous posts where people including me agree he is sort of right but......).

Want Sisu wants, no what Sisu needs, is for other people to regard him as some kind of intellectual authority on a whole range of subjects and somebody who is clearly smarter than the average bear. Now, The usual types of solution for this kind of condition are not simple but not too complex either, often involving some form of CBT be that with or without medication,1-1 support, focused group sessions, assistive technology or a combination of any of these..

No matter what job or country he claims to be in surely he is able to access these services one way or another but if you lot are happy to act as some kind of support group for him then fair enough although it will not help him in the long run.

Sisu will no doubt claim to be ignoring me ( as he usually does when he is afraid of the questions) but I will continue to ask.

This is an interesting point. Putting aside for the moment that you aren't talking to children- imagine you were in the shoes of a climate scientist having to try and explain it to the rest of us.

If you don't want belligerence don't talk like a whiney whingebag, you start off with that, attitude? <doh>
I write like I write from years of habit I don't think, I write this way. I would get more sense from a child btw, a child would understand what I had meant.

I dont actually converse with people this way in person, I say **** every 10 seconds when I talk, jebus <laugh>

There's your problem right away, you think only a climate scientist, or climatologist can only explain, well here's a news flash for you, there are a handful of actual climate scientists in the world mate, there is a second tier of scientists who are not climatologists but call themselves such because they contribute, mathematicians call themselves climatologists, Geologists and all the people who before man made global warming had all the ****ty jobs in closet like offices keeping records, all of a sudden they became superstars, and my god did it go to their heads, and it turned on a tap of endless funding.

Judith Curry is one of the foremost experts, and she does not agree. Richard Lindzen is also an actual climatologist, Roy Spencer who actually set up all the atmosphere temperature stuff for NASA, and runs UAH out of Alabama Huntsville University, those are just off the top of my head. None of those agree. Neither does their data

Why don't you trust their expertise and experience and how do you distinguish their work from the others?

Without sounding arrogant your logic is flawed. That's not being arrogant, your logic IS flawed. Tact I dont do I guess. Never did

Also, you entirely remove the human element, scientists are people and they have the same fallibilities as the rest of us.

Essentially it's a meaningless statement really, again not being arrogant. What you are talking about is "belief". Belief belongs on the other side of the universe from science. Experts and experience, means nothing in itself, unless you know what they are telling you, otherwise it is just belief, like believing in god, or Santa

I think it's fair to say that I should ignore your posts on this, for peace sake and because you are not actually discussing it. My bad, I should have just passed the earlier comment over but sometimes I cant help myself.

My nephew was given a rasberry pi by his school (albeit a posh one) aged 10/11 and was then ahead of the game when he got to secondary school where I am led to believe it is fairly common practise.

Java is easy to learn, you can get programming within a week learning on your own, even with just the free online tutorials.

On experts and use of, it's quite ok to reference an expert, and discuss the merits of the work, it's quite another thing to defer to experts when you don't even know what they are saying. That's just a blind hand in Poker parlance. Let alone not even knowing who those experts even are!

So second reply to the same post but I am the stalker right?

Ah yes the holocaust, that would be when you had your first meltdown with me when I told you that you were blinkered in your views and not the free thinker you had previously claimed, you then attempted to smear me as being a holocaust denier etc.

We can renew that discussion if you like and you can cherrypick away at anything I have posted.

Downloaded them, but haven't have time to watch them yet. I usually watch them when I'm on nights. every year has been brill. I love them.

I think it was actually Faraday himself, the most underrated scientist ever, who started them for children. Fab.

Oh shut up, I was merely referring to your brief inquest into how I felt about Holocaust deniers. Which really did not go well did it.
So a bit of wum is a smear is it? You seemed annoyed with me cos I had something against Holocaust deniers.. odd, you were on about it for weeks after the fact.

Stop talking about 9\11 if you don't want to talk about 9\11

I am not reading your posts, they reek of bitterness. It's an argument to nothing, pointless. You have such weird disjointed discussions with me, I can never get a straight answer from you.

Or you to be honest, you squirmed and slithered from your glacier claims.

You refuse to be nailed down to a single direct question. What was it last time "I'm bored" was it before you ****ed off.

You called my request for an answer "relentless" for some reason because I wanted you to actually make your assertion in relation to something I said.

And of course I normally am dealing with you PJ and TT and Maybe Astro too, 4 people posting at me and I am supposed to? Answer every single post, 4 replies pop up every time I am answering 1 <laugh>

You're thick as **** Tobes, that's not being arrogant it's an observation.

Every time I ask you to explain your argument when you copy paste a link, you say "it's all there to read" <laugh> Afraid of embarrassing yourself further?

Credit to me though I actually got you and PJ to actually go off looking at climate science, I'd say that is a win regardless <laugh> You learned **** because of me <laugh> <ok>

    This thread has it all

Wonder what Faraday would make of this discussion? Apparently his 'mentor', Humphrey Davy* (a laughing gas user like Lil' Rim) treated him like a turd. No relevance to this discussion, but he's just a hero of mine.

    ****ing spell check!
