To counteract Teds 10 points from play off thread when do we admit the threat of relegation? Personally I feel tonight is the defining moment, played crap, no desire, no cutting edge, allowed a team that hadn't won away for 2 months to stroll around, no pressure and a keeper that keeps on coughing up howlers....... Yep tonight for sure......... Time to start worrying about results for teams below us instead of thinking about those in the top 6...... Jeez it's bloody depressing to see how far we've fallen from OBZ day.....
Absolutely. I think we are far more likely to be in a relegation scrap than to be anywhere near the play offs! We are making such a pig's ear of things!
Have to say we are now which will also make it harder to attract anyone to strengthen the squad. On the plus side we a least have a manager with League One experience. Even by QPR standards we have fallen so far in a short space of time & only appear likely to sink even further.
Has it occurred to you that OBZ day was the exception Trams, the rest of it seems pretty consistent to me. 'Played crap, no desire, no cutting edge' describes the majority of our performances for nearly 5 years. Somehow we've fluked 3 of those in the Prem.
The problem is inside the club, it doesn't matter who the manager is, who goes on the pitch or any other 'window dressing'. We are in a nosedive similar to that which Wolves went through a few years back. Until the club sorts out it's internal infrastructure problems and gets a simplified and proper football-orientated system in from top to bottom we will continue to decline. I fear if Charlie is sold in this window we will end up in a dogfight at the bottom that we aren't prepared for. It's worrying times ahead...
Just a thought that may be of no consequence, wasn't Karl Henry in that Wolves side that went straight through two relegations?...
This, to spend £250m & to end up with team/club that's pretty much worthless takes some doing. Won't happen but suspect what we need is a grizzled no nonsense manager in the Pullis, Pearson, NW, Allardyce vein & no dof etc.
And even more amazing was Karl 'the fumbler' Ikeme also of wolves having a fine game tonight and beating brighton 1-0. Your right I think loanee Kev Doyle was also from that squad the same?
That's right, Kenny Jackett refused to play any of them when he took over and they bounced straight back up, tells you all you need to know...
Was it wages or attitude? I was never sure as Doyle was on bonkers money, which is probably why we took him on loan.
No doubt Stan......it glossed over a lot of problems and it meant that Kneecap stayed in charge longer than he should have done......
At our current rate of points, 0.833 per game, and with 21 games left, we are - at this stage - in a relegation scrap.
well its all management ,all this les ferdinand big smile and lets all be mates just dosnt cut it the players were terrified of warnock they were terrified to lose the players do not respect hasselbaink, and that lack of respect was plain to see all over the pitch,i thought polter was appaling he couldnt control the ball no mater where he was when he received it he was incapable of controlling the ball ive proberly been more skillfull than him in my younger days at least i could run at players and throw body swerves its like neil said some of our summer signings were not good enough these players are a disgrace only fourlin looked like he wanted to win this game hall made some terrible mistakes like nearly heading the ball into his own net and it wasnt a green mistake, green clearly screamed at hall to leave the ball and hall still tried to go for the ball its all bad management we need to have the whole lot kicked out the club we would be better of now with no management staff than what we have here right now and with this management staff yes we are locked in a relegation battle, its an absolute disgrace
All we fans and the players can do is dig in and support the manager and hope we come out the other side unscathed. It just takes time ................ there is nothing else we can do.
it might be bad management but outside the transfer window you have to work with what you have got. Neil Warnock was a motivator - something Chris Ramsey wasn't. Now we have JFH in charge - i can see him making changes in the playing personel whether or not SLF agrees. And I would have thought that with a new manager in, players would be doing a Hoilett and start performing. He maybe after a new contract but for m it is time to let him move on so salary can be freed up for other players. It is time to give Green a rest and give Smithies a chance. Hopefully JFH has his eyes on young hungry players and with luck he can bring in however we are carrying some expensive players that should be doing more to justify their large salaries. Maybe Sunderland will take Caulker and Sandro, maybe Charlie will go so at east there is money coming in to invest.
I have watched JFH at matches live and on the TV coverage and he shows not passion at all. He needs to get animated on the sideline if he wants the players to get animated on the pitch.
The answer your question was on day one of the season, it was as plain as the nose on your face to see that this was going to be a tricky season. A season of transition, a season to sell all of the bigger names and I truly hope Charlie, Fer, Sandro, Green, Hoilett, Phillips go in January, only then can we start to rebuild and move forward. Another time to admit this was letting Ramsey go he should have seen the season and he should of had the support of whole the club.
