Just like to say this lad is the best keeper I have ever seen in 46 years of watching Preston, look after him and treasure him he is going to be a major prospect.
not sure why this is off topic. Miles more excited about Pickford coming back than Manone having a slightly decent game. Not available for the Villa game though apparently - shame, would have been a great starter for him. Will be very interesting to see what the pecking order is now. Manone might want to get off or even Pants if he feels threatened.
I've said it on another thread about him: I don't think he'll be playing for SAFC in 2/3 years time - especially if he continues developing at the rate he's going.
Has Sam deliberately put Mannone in the team to put him in the shop window. Decent performance the other night might have increased interest. Competition for signing could increase fee. Shrewd move maybe

I heard a rumour last night that Pickford will be recalled and more or less be our number 1 keeper and Pants will be used in the Townsend deal. Could be ****e like but believable.
Three keepers seems a little OTT so I expect one of them to leave and suspect it could be Pants if the fee is right. The money could go on an extra CD which is were we are very weak at the moment. Even bringing Roberge back in from the cold should be considered imo.
Not sure what else he's supposed to do with constant injuries! Can't play the same side if half of them are injured. And if we're ****e then surely he should change things?
The keepers aren't injured tho are they?? Defoe was on the bench and greame started what's that all about?? System gets changed to much IMO if he doesn't know his best system after this long we've got big problems IMO..
I'm almost certain Pants is on his way. Inexplicably dropped (yes we were conceding goals but you could hardly blame him for that!) a couple weeks before the transfer window opens means we don't want to risk injury imo. The way I see it, we had to sell to buy, and Pants is our only saleable asset. There's not much to choose between Mannone and Pants, and Mannone hasn't played in yonks and his contract is up in 6 months - we'd get nothing for him. I think Allardyce is hoping Pickford will step up and make himself our number 1, so we may as well get a few million for our backup goalie, especially given how similar in ability our third choice is.
Hugo Lloris..french int Michel Vorm..dutch int.. unless one of these is off, cant see any reason why they would need or even want Pants.....
