On loan at Monaco and they're apparently desperate to get rid, because if he plays one more match they have to sign him for €14m - that's about £10m or to put it another way, less than we're reportedly paying for Townsend Now I'm not saying we'd have a chance of getting somebody of his calibre in (although it can't hurt to give it a go..?) but it goes to show there are deals to be had outside the prem. Even a "known name" like El Shaawary is on offer relatively cheap by Prem standards. We paid the same amount for Rodwell ffs
Bet his wages are x3 more than Townsend's though. But I get your point that English players are way way overpriced.
We won't be paying 14m for Townsend, somebody is having a laugh with that. We'll probably be paying about 6m or 7m for him
Remember we will be dealing with Levy and he always seems to have the knack of taking us to the cleaners.
Not this time - BSA is not a football mug - last transfer negotiator was Maggie Burn - feel sure BSA reputation and football kudos will get a decent deal - still feel our return to form begins at Arsenal in cup
Doesn't matter who we are dealing with, that's irrelevant. If Short and big Sam think Townsend is worth 14m then questions need to be asked of them.
At this time & our present predicament not sure I agree - if BSA wants him and we haggle and bluster then go and buy a lesser player who is not BSA first choice - we continue as we are - struggling I'm not comfortable with the money being talked about for AT but - its shop at Harrods or continue with lesser quality -
As I've said on another post he is as close to being a c*nt as the pointy chinned one. I just wouldn't deal with him full stop. Alt; pretend everything is OK then pull out of the deal thus hopefully dropping him in the sh*te.
I've no problem with that. We aren't shopping at Harrods though. We are shopping at Sainsbury's but paying Harrods prices.
After playing for meelan and Monaco I doubt el shareware would be up for the relegation fight we are in. Also isn't bsa a driving school?
Lol - maybe true but in this transfer window no bargains available for players we need - (hardly ever dealing with Levy) so we either role with it or continue as a nearly club - which we've been for all my life since the late 50's
I agree with that if you are talking about shopping in England. There's plenty of value if we look abroad though, which is what Big Sam has stated we are doing...
Agree & thats fine but players to meet our needs will need recent premiership experience to hit ground runnning - not many out in Europe like that - but could do with Alonso back for starters -BSA may have the right ones lined up he's used to similar situations
