He's 50-1 Brucebones for the hat-trick and 16-1 to score at least 2, the irony is those aren't bad bets if he starts what with him being a London lad and the possibility of his mates and family being there to watch
Would be great to see a win and put pressure on Boro against Derby tomorrow. However seen as QPR haven't won yet under Jimmy Floyd I'm expecting us to do our usual!! 2-0 to the Tigers!!!!!
Last time I was at Loftus Rd was 50 years ago when I lived in London. City played a 3-3 draw in the Waggy/ Chiltern era in a 2nd v 3rd encounter. Following that match we went on a 10 match winning streak and ultimately finished Champions of the old Division 3. Think we will get 1 point today.
Steve Bruce, thou art in restaurant, Bulging be thy belly. Thy match will come. Thy will be done on the pitch, As it is in the stands. Give us this day our weekly ****e. And forgive us our bruce outs, As we forgive those that Bruce in against us. And lead us not into attacking football, But deliver us from winning. For thine is the team, The players, and the tactics, For hopefully the final week. ****.
Quality.... This made me chortle Reckon we will have "one of those awful afternoons" again or just a diabolical first half?
Whenever we do that with a winger up front it's terrible. It's never a free role, they never touch the ball. They just run around chasing long balls and fail to hold it up. Cos they're a winger and shouldn't be playing with back to goal. Snodgrass can be one of our biggest threats but he needs to be out wide.
Amen. I think Elmo will go and snod will play wide right. I think that role suits Diame anyway. He kept dropping in and snuffing out joey Barton.
QPR PRESS CONFERENCE The games certainly come along pretty fast during the Christmas & New Year period and Friday see’s Hull City travelling to Loftus Road to face Queen Park Rangers. The recent away form is of some concern; however as QPR are currently 10 places above the bottom place, maybe we will see Hull turning up and putting in a performance. It’s those nearly at the bottom we really seem to struggle with, though to be honest this is how I remember it since I first starting following Hull, back in the 1960’s, We have always seemed to play better against the stronger teams and struggled against those that we should, in theory, beat with some considerable ease. The first person up to face the press was Mo Diamé who was asked about the difference in the home and away performances. “Yes there is frustration and we need to improve away from home, we can win games against Middlesbrough and Burnley and then go away from home to Rotherham and the bottom teams, we need to improve and keep working and try and win games”. When asked about the forthcoming game about QPR “They are a big club and like us they came down this season, they are still strong, it’s going to be a good game and we are looking forward to it”. On a personal front Mo was asked about his own fitness “I wish I was better to be honest, I want to give more to this club then I am doing at the moment but there is a process when you have been injured to come back with confidence, I think it most important that I continue to work with the club. Physically I am ok I am ready to play for this team so I will continue and I think things will be alright. Some player may take longer than others, I want to do more I think I have to and I am ready for it, I am training well during the week. I will keep fighting and I am confident I know what I can do and I know what I can give to this team.” Mo did go on to confess the Championship has been a surprise, in the Premier League he knows each and every player. He said he needs to watch plenty of videos to get up to speed fully with players in this very competitive league. Steve Bruce was first asked about QPR “They were a team, like ourselves who unfortunately could not stay up last year. When you look round their squad and look at the group of players they have got, then they have some very decent players. In Austin whether he is fit or not is arguably the best player in the league. We know what to expect, so it’s going to be difficult, really difficult but we have to improve ourselves really, it’s how we play and it’s a typical championship game”. And talking about the away form, “ It’s disappointing we didn’t see it coming really, the previous 3 months we was rock solid away from home , not giving much away and that’s why we got to the top of the league. To achieve what we want to achieve we need to improve away from home. That’s a mentality thing; at home our form has been impeccable. So we have to improve in the second half of the season playing away from home and keep our home form the way it is”. On team fitness there are players suffering from minor knocks and training on Friday would establish how those players are. The boss Steve Bruce will monitor both Moses Odubajo and defender Andrew Robertson. Is still looks a bit too early for both Andy Dawson and Alex Bruce. And talking about the January transfer window the priority is keeping the players we already have. Half way through the season it’s all to play for.
